(bottle, thanks Joebrew!) Pours hazy orangish/gold with a scant white head that leaves a ring around the glass. Aroma is very funky with barnyard and just a subtle smell of strawberry lurking in the background. The flavor itself was strong with funkiness and on the finish I could detect a faint hint of the strawberry when I exhaled. Medium mouthfeel with low carbonation. This was a decent beer.

Vintage 2006, poured from a 375 ml bottle. Thick, greyish yellow appearance. Aroma is all moldy, cheesy funk and overripe fruit; irish cheddar, lemon, canteloupe, mandarin orange, strawberry. Sun exposed fruit. Weeping sugars and half fermented syrups. Wet animals collecting dust. Flavor is tart, not sour. Violent, forthright funkiness dominates; sweaty, cottony, farmlike nastiness. Pineapple juice rotted in the sun and balsamic vinegar. So much funk running through this only strongly tart body is a bit overpowering; that fresh zing of lemon juice just isn’t there to cleanse the mouth at the end, so the lambicky weirdness just sort of festers in the mouth, and while this isn’t at all bad it’s definitely not ideal. Uncarbonated, oily, firey palate; funky stomach acids and stinky cheeses outlasting everything in the lengthy finish. Very unique; a more effervescent example might have worked better, as would have more sourness. Thanks to Alister and Andy!

[Bottle, ’06, thanks Joebrew!] Pours hazy orange with no head. Aroma is aggressively funky with some sourness and a hint of strawberry also present. Taste is not as sour as I had expected, with the funkiness dominating and the strawberry very subdued and only noticeable in in the finish. Medium-thick mouthfeel with a long, funky finish. A nice beer, but the funkiness could have used a little more sourness to balance it out a bit.

Vintage 2006. Thanks to Guerde and Oslo for sharing (and also to Joebrew who gave this to them as the result of losing a bet; and to the Colorado Avalanche for not having as many points as the Wild). Hazy gold color with very little head. Tart aroma with some hay and a bit of lemon. Sweet fruit and malt taste, turning tart with cherry and strawberry. Very tasty.

colore quasi rosato piattta sentore netto acido con citrico con un lieve fruttato in bocca acido e fruttato fresco che in finale esplode la fragola di bosco inteererssante ma piuttosto diffiicile al primo assaggio

2000 bottle from boboski’s cellar. Pours a lightly hazy, glowing tangerine golden color. A small, patchy film of off-white fizz marks the surface, leaving virtually no lacing behind. The nose is intensely funky, with barnyard notes overpowering the fruity undertones initially. With time, notes of strawberry, lemon, and white grape emerge, intensely sour and citric. The flavor is very sharp all the way through. Lemon and grapefruit sourness is cut slightly by a touch of strawberry sweetness, a flavor that lingers on the tongue for quite some time. The palate is on the lighter side, but is still lightly fizzy despite eight years of age. Quite refreshing and drinkable. I’m impressed with how well this has held up, and I owe myself a revisit of a fresher bottle.

Courtesy of arcdz. Hazy pale body with no head. Rotten fruit and gym sock nose with strawberry, lemon, cheese and yogurt. The flavor is moderately sour with lactic acid, strawberry, melon, lime, bready malts and cheese. Medium body is round with moderate carbonation.
