Aroma of lambic funkiness, barnyard, horseblanket, brett...and strawberry. Flavor was very funky and tart but also had a bunch of strawberry. Also bready and mouth puckering sour. Could have done without the strawberry but what a great funky base beer. Aubrey (2777), Denver, Colorado, USA

Nice level of tartness but I yearned for a bit more. Some notes of vinegar. Fruity aromas of apple and pear were very nice. Overall, I thought it was OK, but not great. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Feb 16, 2008 Yikes, well like their kriek, this one is a wallop of hard acidity, very sour. Virtually no carbonation doesn’t help in keeping that sour whack moving across the tongue, so you get pretty overwhelmed by it. Strawberry is barely detectable, just a hint of berry like fruitiness and sweetness. Color is a dull gold color with no effervescence, no head. A little funk in the background but the acidity pretty much dominates this one. A little hard on the stomach. At one level you wanna like and at another you wanna pour it out. rcweir (121), Massachusetts, USA

(Maybe a bad bottle) Strong funky/sour aroma, Taste is musky sour strawberry. Mouthfeel is a bit dull without the carbonation, fredandboboflo (1418), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 19, 2008 Updated: Jul 2, 2008Bottle, 2006. Orange body with no head. Pleasant aroma nicely integrating the strawberries into an unusually sweet lambic funk. Flavor is largely mellow with hints of mango joining the more obvious flavors. At times feels like a strawberry-mango juice. Mouthfeel, although very soft with no carbonation and little tart bite, somehow holds up nicely and reveals the more tart, sour notes of the brew right upon the swallow. Very unique overall, right when you think it’s got no zest, it reminds you it is a solid lambic with complexities. One I’d like to try again to get a better sense of. 8-4-7-4-15 Rerate 7/2/08 Bottle, 2006. Aroma gueuze-like, and SUPER funky. Hints of light and red fruits dance in the background, but the funk is the foreward note. At this point in the flavor, only certain traces of the strawberries remain, contributing some tartness but mostly a mildly sweet strawberry tinge. Remains very funky with limited tartness and sourness, although the finish becomes tart, leaving a tarter and tarter impression the more the glass goes down. Despite a dulling of the strawberries compared to my first impression, very enjoyable. 8-4-8-4-16 thewolf (5793), Kolding, Denmark

Pours a hazy yellow-orange with no head. Aroma is lightly tart, some brett-character, berries, funkiness and barnyard - the strawberries come to the fore, when the beer heats up a little. Low carbonation, and rather oily mouthfeel. Flavour is surprisingly sweet with only light fruity tartness. Then lots of strawberries hit. Rather dry finish, but not terrible sour. faroeviking (6100), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 19, 2008 Bottle. Hazy orange. Sour yeasty bit sweet fruitish aroma. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is surprisingly soft with little sourness, some strawberries, mold, slight wood and sweetness. A rather mild but very tasty fruit lambiek. Thanks BelJohansen. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 17, 2008 Hazy golden with tiny head. Aroma is sour with typical brett and light strawberry notes. Flavor is rather sweet with strawberries, grapefruit, wood and barnyard notes. A lot more sweet flavor than my previous experience with this lambic.
