Cloudy orangey red with some brown mixed in, no head. Aroma of strawberry, smoke and steel. Very tart and lemony at first, with traditional lambic flavors dominating. The Bride pointed out that the strawberry flavor is there after you swallow the beer, like the ghost of strawberry or something. As it warms, the strawberry and lambic flavors meld much better, so let this be a lesson - do not serve too cold.

Bottle (2000 Limited Edition): Pours a hazy orange gold with a white head. Aroma, very funky, strawberry, barnyard notes, sour, and yeasty. Flavor, funky, lemons, tart, strawberries. Very enjoyable, huge funky notes, and a nice sour bite to it.

Golden amber hazy colour. Almost no head or carbonation. Barnyard aroma with just a hint of strawberries. Tart and very dry flavour with the strawberries being very subtle. Not sure if strawbeery and lambic mix but this is a good attempt.

Pours dark orange, hazy and loaded with floating proteins. A small white head is fully sustained and leaves behind gobs of lacing that would normally fall downward under the weight of so much stirred up sediment. The aroma is heavily acidic, wildly funky and very yeasty. Notes of cheddar cheese, mild strawberries, sour fruit skin, white vinegar, horseblanket, saturated oak, brettanomyces, barnyard, sugar-laden orange juice and grapes. The strawberry notes seem unripened and shrouded by so much lambic funk. Excellent nose, over-the-top funk is the key player. The flavor is very highly acidic, massive and extreme funk off the charts, lightly sweet and mildly bitter. Astringency is very high but seems to fit well and compliments the funk, actually dialing its intensity up a few notches. The strawberry is very faint in the taste and still seems unripened. Very sour, very funky, very fun to drink even though it doesn’t have any kind of flow or rhythm to it. Wood notes grow with each sip and cool the pseudo-heat imparted by such aggressive acidity. The barnyard notes are as realistic and straightforward as I’ve yet encountered, a blend of all things flora and fauna from a remote farm in the Belgian countryside. The finish is very raw and scattered, funky strawberry juice diminishing as brett and light yeast linger on. The mouthfeel is light-medium to medium bodied, mildly carbonated, a touch sticky and far from smooth, with intermittent spikes of a sourness/funk combination that is so brash it feels like it’s peeling the enamel from my teeth. Wow, what a crazy beer. Lots of fun to delve deep into a large glass, too.

Pours a clear light red color with pretty much no head. Smells of definite strawberry, pretty much masked everything else. they hit it on the head with the smell, thats for sure. The taste was much the same, huge strawberry flavor just dominates most other flavors. Tasted a llittle like it had some age to it, as the carbonation was subdued. Sweet, fun beer to drink, especially if you like fruit beers.

0.375 l bottle. Copper to peachy color, low carbonation. Sweetish and acidic aroma with pineapple, strawberry and sulphur. Quite sharp acidic flavor with strawberry. Strawberry flavor is a bit flat like in a frozen strawberry, otherwise good lambic.

Golden orange in colour, no head, no lacing. The aroma is very acidic, very minor strawberries, quite sour, light cheese. The flavour is very tart and sour, highly acidic, some fruit, again only some light strawberries and a brief moment of sweetness. Very sour mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes very long with a high sourness, rather puckering. This is a very sour lambic, along the lines of Framboos and Rose De Gambrinus but nowhere near as drinkable.

375ml bottle obtained in a trade with <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>Larry Pitonka, thanks Andre.
Opened on April 16, 2007.
Vintage 2000.
