Fin (2188), Merton, Oxfordshire, England May 15, 2008 Bottle picked up from Dranken Geers back in March, had this 11-05-08 Pours orangey, no head, cloudy served slightly chilled. The aroma is slightly sour and farmyard but with some gentle strawberryness sat in the background. The taste is more strawberry than I anticipated but with a lovely sourness that just underpins thing beautifully. This could just about be one of my perfect summer sips, here I am sat in my garden with house martins and swallows screeching and darting overhead, the odd cabbage white butterfly fluttering past and the lilting hum of traffic on the M40 carried on an early summer breeze ahh bliss. I think this would be difficult to improve on although just once or twice I felt that maybe a little carbonation might have made this even more interesting, but regardless it was a truly lovely beer.
kkearn (652), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 21, 2008 Bottle, from State Line Liquors (Elkton, MD). Pours orange-amber, with minimal carbonation and a thin off-white head. Very tart and oaky aroma, with mild strawberry contributing some balancing sweetness. Flavor is very tart, highlighting the lactic acid and wood, again with only mild strawberry. Dry, tart, nearly mouth-puckering finish. When it comes to sour ales, I’m a glutton for punishment, and this delivers. Avengedpoet (22), Arizona, USA Aug 17, 2008 Pours a hazy straw color. No head to speak of. Smells strictly of sour funk. Taste extremely funky taste. Pretty much tastes like an old Lambic. No tart fresh Lambic taste to speak of. A decent Lambic. Very smooth. rustychiles (438), Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottle courtesy of avengedpoet. Aroma of sour, lemon, asprin and funk. Flavor is lemony tart, funk, asprin. Nice sour lambic. BeerBiker (1186), Odense, Denmark Aug 9, 2008 [Sampling at Scheffel.] Soft and sweet sourness of strawberries. Darkred and no head. Nice lambic presence. Refreshing. More soft than expected. lassem (110), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 31, 2008 Pours a deep orange with no head what so ever - looks like freshly squeezed apple-cider. The nose is clearly strawberries in a perfumish way. The taste is not that sour and quite singular with the strawberries as the overall- dominating element. The palate is more waterish than oily. The finish is quickly gone... not impressed
