Huge tart aroma with lots of sour fruit. Wow, very tart. Gosh the sourness comes through so much! That’s all I can say, but it has a tad bit of citrus. deflagro (100), Lund, Sweden
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Bottle. Orange-golden liquid with a rather small head with large bubbles. Aroma is a bit sweet but musty and with apparent notes of strawberries. Taste is relatively mild with some strawberries, some mustiness and an acidity that is a bit held back. A small bitterness in the finish. Good and interesting. sigma23 (236), , Maine, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2009 2000 vintage. pours straw yellow with thin white head. aroma is strong vinegar with a earthy tone. no strawberries are detected in aroma or taste. drinks really harsh with super sour vinegar and finishes really dry. maybe i got a bad bottle, but this was not enjoyable for me. maybe im just not that hardcore of a sour drinker yet. phaleslu (555), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 1, 2009 2000 bottle from South Bay Drugs. Flute- pours darker orange at the top and light yellow at the bottom, with no head to speak of but some visible carbonation. Aroma of wood, plastic, grass, straw, leather. Flavor of plastic, leather, tart fruits, gastric acid, and just a hint of stale strawberry. Light body, active carbonation with small bubbles, and dry. This has to be better fresh, and I’m sure the strawberry shows up then. My rating looks just like Shawn’s, but we talked about this one a lot because I couldn’t figure it out. Thanks for sharing your wistom, Shawn, and I hope you don’t think I’m just copying. shawnm213 (973), South Bend, Indiana, USA

Aroma of plastic, leather, wood. flavor plastic, leather, fruit. flavor acid, bile , plastic, cowhide, and stale strawberries. interesting, but I’m guessing this is better fresh. astringent. Dry mouthfeel. ricke (246), Malme, Sweden
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 28, 2009 Hazy yellow with small orange hues. A thin layer of big bubbles quickly fades away into a minimal ring of lacings.
A rather big smell, very funky. Lots of barnyard and something reminiscent of wet dog. Mouldering leaves and rocks, and a white wine-like acidity. All this is topped by a pleasant but subtle smell of sweet strawberries (like dry strawberries) and a hint of lemon. Very good and rather unique.
The taste is sour. The funkiness is more restrained, but still very prominent with a character of wet hay and mud rather than barnyard. Very subtle wheaty notes get through every now and then. As with the funkiness, the fruity notes are slightly more restrained than in the smell. But the strawberries are still noticeable with a rather distinct flavor. A hint of lemon. The finish has actually a quite noticeable grassy bitterness to it, which complement the aggressive sourness and mild fruity sweetness really well. A nice tartness lingers on in the mouth for a long time.
Pretty big body for the style (still moderate though), very restrained carbonation with calm bubbles. I don’t think I would have mind slightly more carbonation. It’s not as dry as most comparable beers.
Very good. Good balance between acidity and sweet strawberry flavors.
