Commercial Description:
As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

Bottle. Oh my fucking god. Talk about pungent!. About as dirty as a fuckin’ barn yard gets. Smells like piss, but tastes like heaven. Smokey in color , yet very carbonated. The overwhelming sourness is apparent from the get go and arrives as similar as smoking your friends best homegrown. It shouldn’t taste very good based on the assumption regarding to smell.. but damn is it ever good. Funky as hell! It hits the palette in an unexpected way. Lingers like good bud should. Very pleased.

This particular beer has a clear golden color with a nice thick ead which fades rather quickly. The more you pour the beer from the bottle the cloudier it gets due to all of the yeast in the bottom of the bottle. The aroma you can smell as soon as it is poured into the glass. It is very salty, citrus, bready malt with that gueuze funk, also it has a talc powder like and floral combination in the end. As you drink it the beer it self is very acidic and has lots of salt which dry the tip of your tounge. Although there is a orange peel and floral flavor which last for a little while on the back of your mouth. those flavor are also complemented by the acidity of the beer.

A wonderfully filthy Gueuze, I must say. Pours a cloudy yellow that gets cloudier with each pour. There is visibly effervescent carbonation. The aroma extends feet away from the glass. Sour yeasty funk, horse blanket, lemon zest, wood and cheese assult the nose. Brutally tart and sour flavour that is devoid of any recognizable malt sweetness. Notes of wood and wet leather accompany the tart, acidic fruit flavours. The balance of bright, new lambic flavours and old musty, woody lambic is noticeable. The mouthfeel tingly with a medium body and a finish that is not as dry as other gueuzes.

750ml bottle. Probably a year and a half old, dont remember what date was on the bottle. Pours out a cloudy yellow color with a white head on it. Smell is full of sour funk, wood, and just a nice pleasant musty smell. Tastes smooth and sour, with a little bit of bitterness, but it is mostly overrun with a lemon like flavor which is really good. Really good stuff.

Wonderful tart aroma, with just a hint of barnyard about it. Pours a clear golden amber with a huge white head. Extremely tart and dry flavor. Tastes of citrus and green apples. Not an gueuze to introduce people to the style, but a very tasty one.

Wow! Amazing gueuze! Aroma of dirty barn floor. Pour was a cloudy light orange with a one finger white head. Taste was perfect. Very sour citrus with hints of yeast but not much can break through this sour barrier. Incredible.

Now this is a perfect example of what I consider to be beer. Big, bad, and stimulating! Impressions start with the chapagne bottle then follows with an unrefined backstall aroma that cannot be described. Big fermenting fruit from an old open barrel in the barn. Looks like a cloudy american lager or darker wheat. Really nice creamy carbonation. Oh my, what a taste impact! Not girlie sweet in any way though wonderfully tart. Hides the alky content rather well, it’s more like drinking rotting fermenting something, but in an enjoyable way. Just plain easy to drink and fun to be with. DEE LISH! Finish is a quarky mackentosh fruit peel quagmire.
