Very acidic aroma with grapefruit, pineapple, lemon and sulphur. Acidic and sharp flavor with both vinegar and lactic acid as well as grapefruit and lemon. A bit too sharp for my taste. csbosox (1082), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 3, 2007 375ml bottle. Small snifter that holds 1/2 the bottle comfortably. The beer is cloudy. gold tinted orange with lots of coarse ground pepper sized particles. Short lived head. Served 20 minutes from the main fridge. Aroma is barnyard, leather, horseblanket with some citrusy hints. Initial taste is sour, sweetened vinegar, and brett along with some vanilla, & lemon. The taste is very bretty, tart, acidic. and refreshing. The tartness and acidic, but refreshing, taste would pair well with food. To me, this is too much on its own. Old rating, just added. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 1, 2007 37.5 cL bottle. Lovely, dark orange-gold color with a little head. Aroma was quite funky, like sweaty lemons and limes covered in mold and dust. Beer initially kicks you with sourness, which explodes into a citrus punch of lemons and grapefruit, then a dry finish with a musty backdrop. The acids get your belly roiling for some food. Absolutely loved it. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 16, 2007 375ml bottle purchased at Rich O’s. crystal clear golden with a nice fluffy white head that settles into a thin film. visible carbonation and some lacing. the aroma has certain tart apple lemon qualities that make your mouth water with an underlying funk that is hard to describe.....I think I might be starting to get the horse blanket thing.....i can envision that wet funky wool aroma. flavor tart slightly acidic lemon and apple with a light sweetness and some slightly moldy barnyard aged cheese funk. finish tart acidic dry apple with light lemon notes light peppery spice and that light funky cheese? flavor. the finish sticks with you for quite some time. as you let it sit on your palate an amazing marriage of tart apple and funky cheese...such as morbier... seems to emerge. fascinating. light to medium body. the carbonation is spot on. not too much not too little. nice sparkling palate cleansing refreshing carbonation. a very interesting fantastic beer.....now where is that morbier....im gonna have to try some of that with this.... mctous (119), Herndon, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 8, 2007 Vinegar and wild yeast overwhelm the aroma, followed by a sour apple fruitiness. The pour is medium amber with light but firm carbonation. The flavor is almost overwhelmingly sour, but cider and yeast notes eventually emerge. The finish is dry, short, and clean.
