Commercial Description:
As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

A with all Gueuze it varies from bottle to bottle but the best is one of the world classic beers - if you like Gueuze. A very sour beer with lots of citrus notes and the usual farmyard aroma.

Bottle, 350 ml. Lively carbonation. Very appealing aroma, lots of lambic and lots of sourness (apples). This one is quite easy on the funk compared to some other gueuzes I’ve had, but in no way lacking in complexity. Really enjoyed this alot.

Courtesy of Mike Mac. Not sure bottle date. Hazy orangish color with no head whatsoever. Huge sour kick up front, plenty of lemon, pear and apple. Lots of musty farmhouse character. Flavor is a tad weak in comparison to aroma. Lots of apple-pear like flavors but not enough sourness. Finishes really fast and dry. Carbonation cleans the palate perfectly and leaves you begging for another sip. Very highly drinkable geueze, would score even higher with more sourness in the flavor.

Clear orange color with a fluffy white head. Big funky barnyard smell with hints of sour fruit in the background. Nice tart flavor. Acidic even. Some barnyard flavors. Thirst quenching. This is some fucking good stuff.

Very tart, funky and fruity. Bottled. Poured into a tall, skinny tumbler. Beer is a hazy, medium, caramel-brown color with an average-sized, white, frothy, diminishing head. The aroma is sharp and unmistakabe. It’s malty with sweet moderate note of caramel and cookie, light note of toasted grain; Heavily yeasty with notes of horseblanket, attic/cobweb; Miscellaneous aromas include moderate lemon/citrus, sour green apple, vinous sour grape, light notes of peach and oak, trace note of chemical/plastic. The flavor is Moderately sweet, moderately-to-heavily acidic, lightly bitter with a long, lightly acidic and trace bittersweet finish. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively-to-fizzy.

Bottle. Deep burnt orange in color with little or no head. Acidic and barnyard like aroma. Yeasty fruity flavor. Apricot and grapefruit notes. Tart. Finish is tart and cheesy. Sweet. Medium bodied. Refreshing. Very nice. Enjoyable.

Burnt orange color with virtually no head. You can smell strawberries as the bottle is corked. IDK the vintage but its at least 3 years old. Aroma is light wine vinegar, barnyard and rubber bands. Body is nicely carbonated but I’d like to see a bit more head retention. Taste is grapefruit zest and apricots. I like to "old" flavor that the funkiness brings. Just a bit on the sweet side to be called refreshing but there’s a lot of good flavor in here.
