Commercial Description:
As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

Bottled. Hazy nutbrown colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is sweet & sour and weak fruity. The flavour is dry and sour fruits abit yeast also. A real dry and sour lambic. Sour long aftertaste with some dark and dry fruity hints. Totally awesome.

Glowy orange colour with sediment. Medium frothy off-white head. Sweet, tart scent. Fruity. Sour fruit taste with gentle malt forenotes. A real kick of sour. Very nice palate even so, I would have preferred that it be a wee less intense.

Beautiful dark golden, a little hazy body, creamy white head, beautiful lacing; Incredible nose (as expected), very fine balance between full and fresh aspects, typical Gueuze nose but what makes this one special is a slight touch of fresh meat; very balanced body, it moves pleasantly from on element to the other, lots of very soft sparkles, very soft texture; The step to the acidy finish is very near perfect, aromas are quite full and the body is a little dry, a fine mix of acidity and aroma fades slowly but lasts very, very long. Incredible beer, very, very well made.

Light amber/pale with a small off-white head. The aroma is lots of cheese, some horse, lemon and lots of lacto. The flavor is bright acidity, moderat sweetness, lemon, melon and some bread. Medium body with lively carbonation and a sour end. 8/4/8/3/15 - 3.8

Rerate. ’98 bottle at Max’s, Fall ’07Hazy pale body with a medium off-white head, fading. The nose is lightly sweet, moderately sour with tons of salty blue cheese, horseblanket, lactic acid and leather. The flavor is lightly sweet with cheese, melon rind, lemon, cotton candy and yogurt. Medium body is soft with moderate carbonation and a tart, puckering finish. Thanks Casey! 9/4/9/4/16 - 4.2

A with all Gueuze it varies from bottle to bottle but the best is one of the world classic beers - if you like Gueuze. A very sour beer with lots of citrus notes and the usual farmyard aroma.

Bottle, 350 ml. Lively carbonation. Very appealing aroma, lots of lambic and lots of sourness (apples). This one is quite easy on the funk compared to some other gueuzes I’ve had, but in no way lacking in complexity. Really enjoyed this alot.

Courtesy of Mike Mac. Not sure bottle date. Hazy orangish color with no head whatsoever. Huge sour kick up front, plenty of lemon, pear and apple. Lots of musty farmhouse character. Flavor is a tad weak in comparison to aroma. Lots of apple-pear like flavors but not enough sourness. Finishes really fast and dry. Carbonation cleans the palate perfectly and leaves you begging for another sip. Very highly drinkable geueze, would score even higher with more sourness in the flavor.
