Oh man, this was interesting to say the least. Red in color with a small white head. Aroma of cherries, funk, and canned tuna. Yes, tuna. Not too enjoyable. Flavor was sweet cherries, then tartness, vinegar, and funk. Horse blanket, pig sweater, llama comforter, elephant jacket, and camel overcoat were all present in the flavor. Tuna on the finish. Good in a way, but a little disturbing in another. It grows on you. Nice sharp, biting palate, but a little questionable overall. Anker (313), Hillerød, Denmark

Pours red with no head at all.
Aroma is mainly cherries which faints and becomes vinegar.
Flavour is very acidic with notes of dry cherries and vinegar. It has a sour touch in the after taste. 7-3-7-4-15=3,6
New rating. Bottle at Den Tatoverede Enke.
Small white head but no vinegar in this one. In stead of vinegar it has lots of sour cherries and dry grape with a sour cherry after taste. Muggus69 (566), Sydney, Australia

Sampling Notes:
Served chilled in pilsner glass.
Minimal pop upon uncorking. Pours a murky dirty pinky-blood colour that has a bit of white foam that briefly flairs up and disappears.
Pungent (somewhat stinky!) nose! I get a sharp sweatiness upfront, tart young Hunter semillon citrus, smelly cheese in brine, hay and horse manure (barnyard!?), cherry coming through in the shape of almond meal, oaky vinegar lingers somehow.
Holy jesus this is sour! My mouth is just engulfed in this liquid, scrivilling up with puckering, mouthwatering tartness. It seems citric, and vinegary, and salty, and bitter, and cheesy astrigencies all at the same time, and lingers down my throat and up the nose at times!...seemingly way too much for such a lean bodied beer with a relatively low soft carbonation.
Ridiculously complex and intense body. Lemon rind, goats cheese, salt, sour cherry, candy strawberry, balsamic vinegar, raw wheat husk, unripe grapes. I wish I could slam more down my throat so I could taste more but it just becomes overwhelming, yet theres some underlying sweetness that lifts the palate just enough for second wind
I could go all night, but the idea its sour, complex and bloody beautiful pretty much says it all! Would have to rank this over Oud Beersel. Holdwine (909), Beertimore, Maryland, USA

A still pour that was super tart, cherries galore, winy, oaky with tones of freah grapes. This stuff was amazing. No such thing as too much cherries. A nice mildly bitter finish ramps you up for the next sip. Pucker up. arrogantb (715), Denver, Colorado, USA

375ml bottle with no date, $6.49. Nice rose color with zero head and close to zero carbonation. The aromas are of musty, earthy cherries The flavor is more cherries, sour, tart, actually pretty good. The only problem I seem to have with krieks (including this one) is that the acidity is a little high for me.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Feb 14, 2009 Cask at Max’s 36h of Belgium. Rich crimson color with no head as expected. despite the lack of carbonation, the aroma bursted with tart cherries, minerals, light hay, grass, barnyard, and just a touch of vinnegar. The flavor was bone dry sour cherry intensity with a very light vinegar and funk addition. The body is where it fell appart; flat and oily. I can take a still straight lambic, but the cherry in this just begged for a spritzy carbonation. Great flavor, but bottled is probably the way to go on this. EricE (467), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

Very sour dry and tart. Cherry is very prominent and stands up well to the sourness. Very nice. No carbonation. Gualthiero (35), Antwerp, Belgium
