Nice reddish-purple color. Funky farmhouse hay and sour cherry aroma. Nice sour cherry, lemon, farmhouse hay and grass flavors. Sour, slightly dry finish.

Dec 22, 2009 Red color with a thin white head. Aroma is nice and sour, cherry and some dryness and funk. Flavor is sweet and sour and tart. Nice acidity and cherry flavor and finishes tart and dry. Nice.

Dec 20, 2009 Pretty cranberry color in a champagne flute. Very sour with cherries on the nose. Definite cherry taste with a puckering finish.

Dec 19, 2009 375 mL bottle from Market Street Wine Shop & Grocery, Downtown, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a slightly hazy strawberry color, or should I say cherry? Medium cream off-white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is tart cherries, an earthy funkiness, berries and citrus. Taste is tart cherry pie filling, slight herbal notes, raspberries and strawberries, citrus. Very tart throughout with a bit of residual sugary sweetness. Medium bodied. Tasty.

Nov 10, 2009 375ml bottle. Pours red with small head that disappears fast. Nose is tart, quite vinous and sour cherries. A bit too vinous for my taste (I can’t stand Rodenbach). Taste is vinous and sour. It gets much less vinous at the end. Start would be 3.4, end would be 3.7. Intensely sour, mouth puckering. I’m a bit disappointed about this one. Not for me.

Nov 8, 2009 (bottle - corked & caged 750 ml) Deep red pour with a slightly pink head. Aroma is incredibly sour and tart with lots of cherry notes. Good and funky. Flavor is sour and earthy at the start. Lots of fruity acidic notes and a lot of sour funk. Finishes with a tart and tangy cherry aftertaste. Really nice and really sour.

Nov 1, 2009 Oh man this stuff looks like happiness in a glass! I wish I had the wherewithal to age some of these for decades. It’s deep red with white fizzy foam. The aroma is spritzy, fruitily acidic, a little bit of chalk, fresh. The flavor is lightly sweet, acidic yet calming, it’s like the Platonic form of what a cold tart cherry should taste like, the finish reminds me of cherry skins. There’s an undertone of horsey funk too. Mouthfeel is light and fizzy. This is delightful, just the beer I wanted today.

Nov 1, 2009 Red pour. Pink head. sour cherries, vinegar, leather and citrus. Flavor is sour and oaky with some light yeastiness. Good stuff!
