It poured a pitch black, small light brown foam. Sweet smell of chocolate and something burned. Taste of chocolate, soy sauce and nuts. Dry.

Draught (Stockholm Beer Festival 2009) - Very dark brown with a tan head. Chocolatey aroma with roasted malt and coffee. Chocolatey taste with coffee and some vinous hints. Full bodied.

Bottle at Bishops Arms. Pitch black beer with a steady tan head. Sweet and light roasted malty aroma with strong milk chocolate notes. The Flavour is light roasted with notes of coffee, cocoa, chocolate, caramel and light alcohol. Creamy and very nice Impy Stout.

At Bishops Arms. Pours black with a nice brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate vanilla and a little liquorice. The flavour is also roasted malt but with lots of dark chocolate, a little liquorice and a little caramel. It has a dark and slightly bitter after taste.

Med en lång eftersmak, närmast fodrad i sin karaktär, mjuk och ullig och med en härlig syrlighet, är Kosacken en välkomponerad stout, utan att överväldiga eller slå en med häpnad.

Bottle@YNWA, Kolding. Pours pitch black with no head. Aromas of tobacco, chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit and toffee. Oily an smooth texture. Flavour of licorice, roasted malt, fruity hops and caramel. Lovely hoppy finish. I’m glad i spotted this one in the fridge.

courtesy of, and shared with Gnoff. end ’06-07 bottle. thanks for this delicious treat. pours black, frothy mocha head leaving some nice golden lacing. aroma was grainy, and lots of caramel malts. Taste, grainy palate, chocolate malts and a nice spicy hops finish. Seemed a lot stronger than the indicated 7.5%

Black with a small tan head. Aroma of licorice, chocolate, a little smoke and tar, and a hint of grassy hops. Sweet caramel flavour with all those same notes.
