This is a really good, traditional beer for the Yuletide. The pour reveals a deep rusty brown body covered by a low-level, beige foam. A kind of woody aroma with delicate notes of sweetness from glacier mints. Fine balance in taste with roasted dark malts, mints, almond and bitter spicies. Dry and smooth bitter ending. Full bodied. I would have loved it even more a month ago - during the xmas season (Thanks to Raimo at the brewery for informing me about the similarity between Vinternarren and Julnarren) (25.01.2008). Bov (4659), Bienne, Switzerland May 1, 2007 courtesy of Per - cloudy bordeaux colour with no remaining foam; aroma of grapefruit, licorice and mint; full and regular malt body; tart and bitter, very bitter indeed; some residual sugars along with mint and grassy notes in the finish - very good and interesting jjpm74 (3130), Stratford, CT 06614, Connecticut, USA Mar 23, 2007 Bottle courtesy of omhper.
