| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 28, 2006 Aroma is boozy and fruity with warm honey notes. The body is a dim yellow.brown and holds a rapidly diminishing, two finger thick, white head. Fore is stale fruits, honey, candy sugar, mild citrus and pear. The carbonation levels are a bit low which leaves a sort of flat lingering fruit flavor in the finish. Not something I’d reach for again. ALLOVATE (1126), Perth, Australia
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Aug 25, 2006 As far as tasting notes go this is the evil twin of Roman’s Sloebar. Tried this from the bottle into a tallboy (only glass available) back at our hostel in Brussels. Opaque, deep gold with a big inch thick, rocky white head that held on and laced well. Feint toasted malt and fairy floss nose - not much at all, or otherwise by this time of night my olfactory glands had gone to sleep. Not even a little trace of that huge ABV. Strong Bristol rock candi flavour in the mouth oozing syrupy citrus notes with a lesser enticing base of butter and bready yeast. Full in body, creamy on the tongue but not all too enticing flavour-wise. Hot alcohol in the finish with more saliva drawing citric fruits and sweet candi. Bit rough and solventy to drink as it warms. Not much too it really. Average. (33cL, BBE 05/06) DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 8, 2006 Bottle from Super Saver. Hazy yellowish pour, with aroma of hopcit, floral spices, lemongrass. The flavor is citric, lemongrassy, with floraql and spicy finishing notes. Lively, very carbonated palate. Bart (1653), Brussels, Belgium
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 22, 2006 Clear yellow colour, lots of carbonation, resulting in a huge white head. Sweet hoppy aroma, light fruity (touch of citrus, just a little unnatural I think) Full body, some sprankling. Finish is sweet-bitter, licht alcoholic with a rather long and dry ending. Not bad! | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 1, 2006 Bottled. Fizzy, violent weak white head on a hazy light yellow pour. Oh, look, head is all gone. Smells of hops and flowers. Tastes much the same, with sweet malty flavor, yeast, and spices. Smell of apple found toward the bottom of the glass. Fresh, some bitterness, balanced. Pleasant, a little slick, though. Wouldn’t have guessed it to be 8.5%. Strange brew. SHIG (2037), Aviano, Italy
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 29, 2006 Golden amber with white huge head. Smell was a sour malt. Sour citrusy malt taste with a high alcohol tingle. Pimgref (84), Gorinchem, Netherlands
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 21, 2006 Fresh stronge ale with a taste very close to pilsener. The head is extremely foamy which makes its looks not so good. Tastes similar like Duvel.
