Beer no. 16 of my Slovenian beerhunt. Brought from Belgium by my friend Boštjan (thanks!). Shared with ozujsko.
0.33l bottle. Poured a huge fluffy head. Pale yellow colour (like a cheap lager), very well carbonated. Light fruity aroma, dust, malt, hints of coriander. The alcohol isn’t hidden very well (but I thought it wasn’t that intensive). Nice appley and lemony taste with hints of honey, some weak traces of hops. Perhaps I’ve drunk it too cold. A good Duvel-style beer.

Sampled at Oakes’ ’05 Xmas Party
Yellow gold, light head and little lacing. Nose is citric, yeasty but with earthy notes. The flavor is tart and pronounced, very tasty and complex. Light malty citrus, clean and refreshing; balanced like a fine cake.

Yeasty Belgium. Grassy with corriander spice on tongue. Creamy head, Boldly hopped, creamy feel on tongue, grainy. Finishes on sweeter side, with subtle fruitiness. Some astringent sour fruit aftertaste.

Medium head on a gold-brown body. Nice and fruity, not too heavy and a pleasure to drink. Dry finish, easy dinking.

A Mes rate: Just didn’t do it for me. Looking back at my notes I didn’t even finish them, they stopped mid rate. The same goes for the beer which was only half emptied before it was disgarded for something better. The commercial description is accurate I just didn’t think it did anything of any character. Looks good, great head. Hoppy nose. Malts and more hops in the flavour. Yeah yeah I’ll get my coat...
