| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 26, 2005 An old rating, from 2002. Bottle poured a golden color with a touch of haze and a dense, creamy head. A spicy/floral aroma hits the nose quickly. Flavors of sour fruits (apples, pears), and pale malt are evident. Finishes quite dry. Alcohol level is hidden pretty nicely ’cause I don’t catch 8.5 in this one.

Clear, golden, large head that nevertheless doesn’t last long, a couple of lines of bubbles from the bottom. Hoppy and flowery in the nose. Malty flavour with some caramel, strong hops and sour lambiek-reminiscent notes. pivo (2537), Germany
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2005 Yeasty nose - light, cloudy pale orange color, sticky lacy head. Medium pale malt body with some vanilla undertones. Gritty end and cardboardy aftertaste resulting in a rought texture. Overall quite nice. Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 9, 2005 Light golden with a large head. Aromatics of fruit, especially white grapes and pear, along with other hints of vanilla and yeast. Suprisingly lovely flavor with notes of bubble gum and dried candied fruits. A finish of saaz hops gives a moderately bitter, spicy and grassy finish. Tasty and I had never heard of this before. Thanks Dr. Bill. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA

The Kin pours a glowing copper body and a huge rocky white head. The aroma and flavor are lightly tart with ideas of, lemon, dried apricot, some green apple, and a pastry doughy-ness. The Kin is rather earthy, lightly peppery, and holds a unique hoppy bittering bite in the lingering finish. This Belgian finishes with a warming tangy-ness and concludes dry and lightly fruity. I’ve only had a handful of Belgians that I could compare to the Kin…. The Hapkin. TBone (6844), Pori, Finland

Very pale yellow, huge foamy white head, lots of lace. Strong aroma of Saaz hops and ear wax. Hoppy, white wine-like palate: hint of apples. Hoppy bitter aftestaste. A bit like a witbier. Quite thin bodied for this ABV. Expected more from this. JonMoore (1562), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 25, 2004 Hazy golden colour with a huge frothy white head. Fruity, floral and sweet aroma. Sweet and sour fruity taste, medium bodied with a foamy mouthfeel, smooth and dry. Alcohol is well hid. Spritzy is a good descriptor. Very good.
