[33cl bottle] Hazy, golden colour with a huge frothy white head. Light-sweet, slightly malty aroma with distinctive lime-fruity hoppy notes, accompanied by medicinal phenolic spices. Light-bitter flavour, full bodied with a spritzy carbonation. Pale malt character with citrus and lime. Slightly perfumed malty and spicy finish with a lightly fruity hoppy touch. Middle of the road Tripel [07.I.09].

33cl bottle from when this beer was brewed by Br. Louwaege, Best before date May 2002 ie 6.5 years out of date. Still poured a very clear yellow with a small amount of carbonation. The small white head rapidly disappeared. Quite sour, not surprising ivo its age, but with enough citrus and malt notes combined with a bitter finish to still make it drinkable, although somewhat on the edge. Doesn’t appear to drink to it’s strength. Not bad considering.

Bottle (in NZ). There was plenty of carbonation in the pour, and the head was large and frothy. Thought the aroma had a touch of soapiness in it. A pretty dry malty palate, with lots of alcohol in the swallow. This is balanced by fruit and toffee flavours. I liked it more as I drank it.

Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Slightly hazy gold colour with a thin white head. Lovely aroma of melon rind, flowery hop and medicinal tones. Excellent balance of sweet and bitter with a spot-on dry finish. Medium carbonation makes this nice and light on the tongue. Superb.

Hazy honey-orange, huge white head that jumps out of the bottle. Clear, distinct hop-citrus aroma. Taste fruity, some alcohol but with an excellent palate and long finish.
