Seems many brown ales are criticized for being boring. This one is no exception. Brown, see-through color. Short, foamy head. Malty, sweet aroma with notes of caramel and some grain. Flavor starts sweet and stays sweet, though there is a slight tartness at the end. Lively carbonation for a clean finish.

Bottled. Poured clear iced tea brown with a short beige head. Aroma was airy and weak with mild chocolate notes and some grass.. other sweet malty notes, but nothing really did it for me. Flavor had semi-sweet chocolate and cola sweetness with mild grassy bitterness.. dry cola finish. Light-bodied and watery on the palate.. never felt good. Meh.

Translucent, hazy red-brown body. Thin off-white head. Tart, light, fruity aroma. Thin, sweet body, toasty and fruity, balanced by grassy hops. By no means full-bodied or robust, this is a rather weak brown ale.

Main Street Brown is the 2nd brown I ever had next to Newcastle, and they are not very similar. This one poured a red/brown, translucent color with little tan head. Smelled like roasted malts, tasted like roasted malts. Thin, watery mouthfeel, but not as carbonated as Newcastle. A good session ale.

Garnet color with a big foamy, light tan head. Light aroma of nutty caramel malt and faint citrus. Taste is an earthy, caramel malt flavor with a bit of citric astringence. The finish is a quick hit of malt that’s nice but brief. Palate is thinner than I would have expected and carbonation is light and tingly. A decent brown.

Dark Red Coloring with Sandy Head. Light Mouthfeel, Dusty Malt Taste. I Wouldn’t Call This a ’Robust’ Brown by a Longshot but Certainly a Very Decent Session Quality Brown.

Vaguely hazy deep orange, sticky, oily head. Nose sweet rotting citrus, cardboard, a few malts. Flavor astringent, sweet, a bit of caramel. Blech.
