Malts are carmely and slightly sweet. Hops are spicy, and the spiciness fades rather quickly. Fairly standard American Amber. Drinkable, but very average. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. UnionMade (621), Connecticut, USA

Some are great, and some are just way too boring. This is a good one. Pours a medium and somewhat dull amber color. Very average looking. I'm feeling a little disappointed. The aroma cheered me up. Nice and malty, with a bit of sweetness and a good balanced hoppiness. Some apple and pear esteriness. Flavor is sweet and malty, with a nice fruitiness that permeates throughout the sip. Hops are mild and balance the maltiness very well. I was in the mood for a sweetish beer, and this one hit the spot. Not candy sweet, but a nice change of pace from ESBs and IPAs. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 7, 2003 Grainy malt is very tame and bland. Hops is weak and not assertive. Very "untasty" brew that seems unbalanced and off. I expect more from a Realbeer Tour bottle!!! BeerRunner (144), San Diego, California, USA

I like it well enough, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to drink it again. Dogbrick (2874), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Strange that the only micro they had was from WI. Brownish-amber color with a thin off-white head. Thin lacing. Aroma is lightly malty. Flavor is slightly above average for an Amber and did have a nice malt presence. However the body was kind of thin and there was not enough caramel or nut flavor to keep it interesting for long. Finish was somewhat malty with a hint of hops. This would do in a pinch if the rest of the selection were limited, but that was not the case with me as the store also had Anchor Porter. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 3, 2003 Hearty stick-to-your ribs aroma. Thin, but clingy off-white head. Light copper color appearance. Flavor is initially nutty and malty but has a bit of a twang - slight "Gluek" twinge to it - but not nearly as bad by any means! | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 26, 2003 A grainy malt aroma, smells a bit like Otter, but maybe not. As the bottle dried, the aroma drifted towards brown sugar. Slightly sweet, and orange-blossomy. Long mild hop and grain-bitter finish. Intense clear orange, smallish head. Citrus gelatin, a little caramel and mild hop flavor. Pretty balanced, slightly warming. Decent enough.
