Had this for the first time at a local drinking establishment. It was so damn good, I had to have two. I wasn't familuar with this brewery until that time, but now I am a fan.

The hop aroma jumps out at you in this one. appearance is an attractive golden-brown with a little cloudiness. Flavor is also quite hoppy, but not so much that it’s a negative. Barley tastes as though it is well malted also. The hops stay with you is the aftertaste also. Very strong flavor is both respects.

Foamy head, lots of lingering lace. Plenty of hops in the nose for balance. Distributor said that the owners/brewers are cousins of the folks at new belgian (Fat Tire) outta Colorado using same recipes. Definitely not the same beer though. It’s not bad, could be a session. Could also use some major tweaking. Got this one in bottle at Bodega downtown.

My favorite Harbor City beer. This amber pours a, well, amber color with thin offwhite lacing rather than a head. Very, very nice balance of malts and hops, perfect amount of bitterness and smoothness to make this beer very easy to enjoy. It’s one imperfection is a very slight metallic aftertaste that sometimes appears when the beer warms. However, I rarely let my pints get to that point!

Medium amber hue with good somewhat diminishing head and good lacing. Aroma hints of butterscotch, pine, toasted malts, herbs, grapefruit, and caramel. Taste starts fruity and malty. Crsip bitter hoppiness moderates taste. Acidic finish. Medium-bodied with a soft and buttery mouthfeel. A darn good amber with just enough hops and acidic nature to keep it interesting. Recommended.

More brown than amber colored. Reasonable amount of head. Slight hop smell. The first sip had a strong hop bite that gave way to malt even before I could swallow. Intriguing. The malt dominates as you get deeper into the beer, with caramel flavor working its way in.

I got this in a trade, and amber ales are wierd. Some are great, and some are just way too boring. This is a good one. Pours a medium and somewhat dull amber color. Very average looking. I'm feeling a little disappointed. The aroma cheered me up. Nice and malty, with a bit of sweetness and a good balanced hoppiness. Some apple and pear esteriness. Flavor is sweet and malty, with a nice fruitiness that permeates throughout the sip. Hops are mild and balance the maltiness very well. I was in the mood for a sweetish beer, and this one hit the spot. Not candy sweet, but a nice change of pace from ESBs and IPAs.

Nice deep amber color, generous beige head, and sheets of lace. Nose buttery, caramel malt and a slight touch of hops. Start sweet, the middle is light, the finish some what spicy, but not over powering. Carbonation is minimal, a drinkable beer.
