Some are great, and some are just way too boring. This is a good one. Pours a medium and somewhat dull amber color. Very average looking. I'm feeling a little disappointed. The aroma cheered me up. Nice and malty, with a bit of sweetness and a good balanced hoppiness. Some apple and pear esteriness. Flavor is sweet and malty, with a nice fruitiness that permeates throughout the sip. Hops are mild and balance the maltiness very well. I was in the mood for a sweetish beer, and this one hit the spot. Not candy sweet, but a nice change of pace from ESBs and IPAs.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 19, 2009 Hazy light amber, abundant but loose beige head, decent lace. Aroma of pale malt with a bit of caramel. Bittersweet, malts have a bit of caramel, a bit of apple cider, no toffee or darker flavors. Some husky or crusty raw grain character, a bit oxidized on the finish. Bitter like orange peel. Carbonation plays a significant role in the flavor, though only a moderate one in the texture. Thin to medium body, somewhat spritzy. Bockyhorsey (2543), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Flavor was sweet but bitter was more overpowering. Did belch after beer was finished and a caramel aftertaste was present. So the malt was there but didn’t show uo in aroma and flavor. Taste is more of the same wrapped up in a semi-thin body with a malty consistency. Finishes a little spicy. GeneralGao (3057), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | May 15, 2008 12oz bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. Head was bubbly and off white. A bit of lace was left behind. Smelled of subdued cherry with a whiff of malt (ala chocolate and molasses). Light bodied and slightly sweet on the tongue. There was also a dash of salt. I tasted white paper, Ritz crackers, leather, and some milk chocolate. Carbonation was on the higher end of the spectrum. They must have forgotten to add the "assertive hops" to the boil, as there wasn’t much in the way of hop aroma or flavor. Not a good beer. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 28, 2008 This beer poured nicely in a typical amber colour with a modest sized white head. Aroma was of light biscuity malts and subtle hops. Flavor was decent, soft caramel but finishes a little weak nonetheless. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA
