Tastes pretty much like a weak brown, but with some acid bite. Not overwhelmingly raspberry, but there is some tartness. Not bad either, just unexpected. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

Lightly Rich Malty Beer with Light Raspberry Notes...Not too Sweet or Drying...a Lightly Dried Toasty Aftertasted...Thinned Bodies...Overall, Although Hard to Chalk This up as a Brown, Not a Bad Light Fruit Beer. irishsnake (353), Oakland, California, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Jun 1, 2006 yikes! starts out ok - at least it looks good, nice brownish red color, bright...but the head drops fast and doesn’t lace. nose is almost 100% raspberry extract. maybe a little brown ale nuttiness. flavor is agained dominated by raspberries - again, seemingly of the extract variety (a bit of plastic in there). not a very good beer, although the base brown ale seems fair enough. the raspberries are too much. keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | May 13, 2006 Well, it looks like a good brown ale and smells like a good raspberry brown ale. Stop reading right there if you don’t care about taste. The taste of this nice looking raspberry brown was that of nutty, roasted malts (good) and burnt raspberries (bad). The charred flavor that came through in this sampling was overwhelmingly horrible. I like the other Harbor City brews, so I’m willing to try this again in case I had a very bad batch. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2006 Deep red color with no head. Aroma was definitely raspberry, but more of the heavy processed or cough syrup variety instead of fresh. The taste is thankfully as advertised. I can taste the nuttiness of a brown and the rasberry is light enough to play a supporting role. Not bad. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 28, 2006 Deep, translucent and rusty brown in color with a dusty, old oil looking layer for the head. Raspberry kernels on whole wheat bread provide the aromatic introduction along with sweet syrupy ribbons to the tune of maple syrup over boysenberry pancakes. Some accents of chocolate cherry cordials as well. Flavor takes on much in the same. Cherry tootsie rolls with a heartfelt reliance on hazelnuts and chocolate powder. Touch of raspberry vinaigrette, but the acidity doesn’t breach anything serious. Additional contributions come by means of cocoa dinner rolls and blackberries. Chalky and syrupy simultaneously on the palate, and as balanced as one could hope for. Sweet raspberry sauce drizzled over chocolate cheesecake plays out in the finish. hopdog (5612), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 27, 2005 12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown with a huge, huge sized off white head. Aromas of tart raspberries and light chocolate (the raspberries dominate though). Tastes of tart raspberries. Nothing much else other than raspberries - good thing raspberries is one of my favorites for a fruit beer. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 1, 2005 Dark brown body, but shows ruby when held to the light. The head is white and small. The raspberries dominate the aroma. There is also some light chocolate. The taste has a slightly tart raspberry along with a dry finish. The other taste makes me think that this is a raspberry ice cream malt. Decent beer if you are a fan of raspberries.
