oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA Mar 17, 2006 Pours a amber color. Aromas wine with tart apples. Flavor is oakish red wine and tart apples. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Feb 22, 2006 Pours a deep ruby/mahogany with a slight fizz, but no head whatsoever. Apple aroma with light vinegar notes. Flavor is crisp apple tartness with a kiss of cherry and a drop of honey. No "wooden" notes... the only evidence of barrel-aging is in its smoothness - it holds light astringence, but its sourness isn’t upsetting.

dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jan 28, 2006 Golden in color with a small white head that quickly disapates. Aroma of applesw, slightl sweet finishes dry. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA Jun 2, 2003 Why is this brew rated so low it great stuff.Nice amber color, nearly no head, strong apple aroma.Sweet/sour apple taste that is quite pleasant but i fear will lead to some hard core after effects as many of my fellow raters have posted.Over all i don't think this brew is rated very well i think it deserves a higher place.Hard to say what is the best cider since i'm not an aficciando(spelling problem) but i know what i like and this is a pretty decent cider and worth a decent rate. Tina (1), USA does not count Apr 8, 2003 as ciders go this is definitly one of the more palatable ones.
Not too sweet for once! harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jan 20, 2003 Yikes! This stuff ranks right up there with Mad Dog 20/20. Just like drink cheap apple wine. Whew, I cannot describe the head ache pain I had the next morning after drinking this one night. Stay away from the Hard Core. Volgon (2487), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jun 4, 2002 Updated: Jan 11, 2004Re-rate 6/4/02: No, I wasn't foolish enough to drink this again, but I was reading through my ratings when I saw this and cringed. I was dismayed to see that I gave this a 0.8. This is on a short list of things that I will never drink again, unless I'm stuck on a desert island for life or in Hell. First rating: Holy shit! I'll be lucky if I'm alive in the morning, never-mind finishing this. Sweet and sour in a really bad way. No head. The dark color is the ONLY thing going for this. MikeF (528), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Apr 6, 2002 Great Cider. Don’t drink too many!
