| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 18, 2005 Hardcore’s palate is crisp and less mucousy than other ciders, without being overbearingly tart. Flavor is rich apple juice with granny smith influences. Finish is sweet and clean, overall a decent cider. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 5, 2005 A decent full-bodied cider, better draught than bottled, me thinks as I had it both ways :) at Royal Mile Pub in Wheaton, MD. This has a very noticeable alcohol flavor, however it doesn’t carry through to the taste, which is all apple, baby, hardcore to the max, b. I enjoyed speaking like that at the scottish pub. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 8, 2005 On tap at Barley’s Taphouse in Asheville, NC. Apple gold in color. Fizzy carbonation, with no head formed as expected. Smells like apple juice, what else? Taste is on the dry side, but apple sweetness still is there. Problem is that the alcohol is too low in this cider to please me. My guess is that it is around 5%, at mot 6%. I’ve been making ciders all year now and 10% is my usual final gravity range. Why not let ’er rip? I read that around 200 years ago the average person consumed something like 35 gallons of cider per year! No wonder all the Pilgims brought with them were apple seeds. hershiser2 (914), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jan 3, 2005 $1.49 for a 12-oz single. Pale yellow, no head. Smells appley, big surprise! Kinda extract smelling. Taste is tangy boring ol’ apple juice, with some carbonation, with a skunky aftertaste. PorterPounder (3144), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 21, 2004 Poured from the bottle at the Fox and Hound Pub in Austin Tx. Pours a light golden with little to no head. Aroma is of sweet Delicious Apples - whether they are yellow or red - cannot decipher. Flavor is a bit subdued but apple-like in nature, and pleasant enough to wash down the dinner, Pick up some crisp Fall and Winter notes with the apple sweetness, and it is not too different from regular apple cider. Mouthfeel is a tad thin, but abiout appropriate for a cider. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 7, 2004 12 oz bottle. Pale golden, fizzy, no head...slight fresh sweet apple aroma, candyish...soda-pop flavor isn’t as cloying or sweet as some, thus more drinkable, but no closer to artisanal, or good. Honestly, its nearly impossible to distinguish between these macro ciders; let’s just say this is far from the worst, but only worth drinking for free. JK (2961), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2004 Simple. The commercial description is accurate. Taste is on the light side. Not as sweet as many, but sugar content is still high and noticeable in the taste. DerBiermeister (516), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 12, 2004 This is a good cider. However, it is not the best. It is good because it is crisp, clean, and dry, but it seems a bit more flavour or complexity of palate - a bit more tasteful substance might be in order here. I do find it refreshing but perhaps still a bit watery. It is similar in style to Hornsby’s Draft Cider, but is no party in your mouth like Hornsby’s Hard Apple Cider. HardCore is less sweet.
