Woody, leafy, chocolatey notes in the slightly toffeeish aroma. Slightly toffeeish flavour with a little hint of nuttiness and a respectable amount of chewy, earthy malt. Some dark fruits in the finish. Hooker (450), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 3, 2005 Bottle pours dark copper, hues of plum, medium foamy sandy colored head, spotty lacing, with very light carbonation. Malty nose, sweet, with a very soft biscuit and alcohol note. Peaty, hints of licorice, and light dark pitted fruit on the tongue. Medium to full bodied, with a fairly thick and somewhat viscous mouthfeel. Sweet malty finish, lingering spices. Slightly medicinal as well but its very subtle. Otherwise this was a fairly decent offering. I’d probably have it again.

A dank, musky maltness detracts overall from the experience. Crit (2405), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada
