Pours a slightly cloudy amber golden with a yellowish head. Fresh and fruity nose - some chewing gum. Rather full-bodied, surprisingly salty with some accents of overripe fruit. A touch of sherry and a rather bitter finish. Not the world’s most sophisticated Barley Wine. 180807 yespr (12411), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2007 12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow with almost no head. Slight sweet malty aroma. Sweetish flavour, very wellhidden alcohol. Grainy note, slight pineneedle flavour. Warming finish. Not bad but not really great either. omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden

Sweet and juicy, surprisingly slim for it’s high abv. Fruity and rounded with some syrup to with the citric hops. A well balanced cross of US and English style barley wines. OK flavourful, teaish bonbon flavour. Some bitterness, slightly rough. Not good enough for this ABV. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 5, 2007 Copper color; poor head. Aroma of malt (light), ruhm, buttery. Much thinner than expected, some toffee taste, too much alcohol, quite strong bitterness. More Strong Ale and Strong Lager than Barley Wine. Disappointed. hopdog (5614), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 24, 2007 12oz bottle. Poured a light to medium amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, citrus, spicey, and a little fruity. Tastes of caramel, fruitiness, citrus, and lighter spices. Alcohol burn in the finish. Rastacouere (5564), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 30, 2004 Very clear amber body with basically no head. Aroma is full of annoying alcohol which burns the nose. If it was a pils, I’m sure it would be skunk, now it is far from a pilsner, but there’s to me that little something annoying and besides not much going on. The taste is very caramelic, immensely sweet, grossly sweet, full of alcohol. There may be a mild note of smoked ham, but seriously, this lacks dryness big time and is really short on the palate, besides the cloying sensation which doesn’t seem to want to go. Body is thin-medium. A very poor barley wine which disappoints me regardless of the low expectations I had.
