Commercial Description:
This deep copper colored ale blends a spectrum of malts to build a medium bodied, full flavored beer. The German hops provide a subtle aroma and a clean, bitter finish. The Harpoon 100 Barrel Series Alt is well-balanced, smooth, and refreshing.

(RBSG04) Clear amber body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, floral. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, earthy/floral, orange/peach. Light-medium body. Nicely balanced beer, well crafted.

On tap: Pours a clear darkish copper color with a puffy and well-lacing white head. Mild caramel and ale yeast aroma. Starts lightly sugary sweet with some corn flavor and a touch of toasted crystal malt. Finishes dry and bitter with some off-flavors. Pretty close to style, but could use some more balance.

I finally tracked one of these down. Worthwhile, though a bit weak even for the style. Amber/reddish with a white head. Smells roasty with some rosey elements. Taste is sweet and fruity with a decent finish.

Bottle @ RBSG 04’ Grand Tasting
Brown amber, sticky head/lacing. Aroma is a nutty, sweet, light caramel note, a vague earthiness is present. Average for the style.

22 oz bottle. Clear light maple color, giganto billowy head dies slowly. Simple but effective sweet caramel nose. Very sweet and malty, caramel and brown sugar dominating, some nice herbal qualities (rosemary and a bit of pepper); very very smooth, perhaps too much so. Pleasant, but not a patch on McNeills or Long Trail.

Thick creamy head, medium carbonated, light brown amber looking beer .Aroma was quiet hoppy for an alt, fresh, clear nose. Light spicy finish. Flavour: malt based, light woody feel with spiced touch. Some late bitter touch. Not really an alt as I would imagine but decent ale it is.

Medium brown color. Small white foamy had. Aroma is malty and fruity. A medium bodied alt. Malts are fruity and sweet, touches of orange and brown sugar. Hops are grapefruity and slightly spicy. Nicely balanced alt. Fresh and fruity. Light and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
