Looks like a mini bottle of wine, with a relatively fancy label and the aluminum foil top. Amber colored topped with a thick off white head. Lots of lacing left on the glass. Somewhat hoppy, sweet aroma. The beer is very smooth but didn’t taste quite like I thought it would. While there are some hops in there, I was hoping for a bit more of a hop bite. A touch of bitter, but overshadowing both features was the fact that it may be a little too sweet. It’s still a good beer though, it just needs a little more overall kick to it. 6.6% Abv, but it doesn’t seem like it, goes down very smooth.

22 oz. bottle: Pours a deep ruddy copper brown. Small yet sticky off white head. Nose of flowers, citrus, wood, esters. Firm malt base, biscuit, dark fruit and bread. Solid mouthfeel, medium bodied, earthen hops, yeast and alcohol round this one out. Hops are piney, resinous, with a citric slap in the cod piece. Finishing dry. A nice brew from Harpoon, the 100 BBL series has done wonders in my mind and shows that Harpoon can hang if they try. Wheres the double IPA?

Bottle. Poured a small tan head that became mostly diminishing, lackluster lacing, mostly transparent, no visible carbonation, and an orange hue. Malty, sugary sweet, fruity nose. Sweet, fruity, lightly bitter flavor. Tingly mouthfeel. Not a big, bold beer for this style.

This bottled brew was sampled at a rating party in Indianapolis, IN poured a large sized head of foamy fine to medium sized long lasting bubbles that left behind a very good thick lacing on top of a transparent light orange brown colored body with average carbonation. The aroma was very mild with brown malts in the nose. The mouth feel was mildly tingly at the start and strongly tingly in the finish. The flavor was of malty strong hops and a mild malt hop bite.

I like this one. In the glass it was a cloudy dark amber with a big, tight bubbled, off-white head. The initial swallow was amazingly pleasant. Thoughts of rating had to be postponed to second and third swallows. Good malt flavor, slightly sweet with a lingering hop presence. Smooth, the hops weren’t bitter. Well balanced, nice malt mouth feel. Bring it out of retirement!

22oz. Bottle: This has been hanging out in the back of the fridge for awhile, so i figured I should get to it now. Mine poured a slightly orangish-amber color with a lot of head. The head drops away very quickly. Somewhat floral and fuity aroma. Medium bodied, slightly bitter, with a hint of some fuits in the taste. Decent enough beer. It could be a good everyday beer in their line-up, if they so desired.

Bottle (650ml - "batch date 10/1/04"). Shared with DougShoemaker, Radek, "R" and others - courtesty of DougShoemaker. Poured slightly hazy orange-rose with plentiful suspended white sediment and an smallish white head. Floral aroma of light, dry almost perfumy hops, sweet apricot malt. More bitterness in the flavour, dry wheat flour and apricot graininess - develops a slightly bitter finish - dry and slightly lively mouthfeel - pretty solid fruity beer with enough hop character to make it seem like a decent ESB.
