Commercial Description:
Framboise, French for "raspberry", is a Belgian-style fruit lambic. Made with more than 4,600 pounds of raspberries, 50% wheat at a gravity of 14°p it has all the makings of a great summer time beer. Highly carbonated, it produces a wonderfully pink, lacey head. The burgundy color foretells of intense raspberry aromas. A nice, sweet start finishing with a tart and acidic finish that is light and refreshing.
Released again in late 2006 in 12oz bottles and draught.

Raspberrys were not that sour, and overall I found the flavor to be a lot sweeter than regular beers but more sour than a lambic. However, extremely smooth and drinkable plus the limited availbilty/ 100 barrell thing really helps the taste by making you think its really rare and unique.

[2005, "session 11" bottle] Very hazy brownish-orangish red with a white fizz that receds to wisps. RASPBERRY aroma and a little sweet malt. Surprisingly dry taste with tingly tartness that is full of raspberry but without the sweetness of some other raspberry beers. There is some evidence of malt in there and a not overdone tartness that clears to a watery finish. A bit subdued, actually. Light body with medium carbonation and a clean finish.

Pours with a two-finger white head that fades quickly to a ring leaving no lace. Cloudy red/amber color. Light bodied and light carbonation. Nose is strong raspberry . Starts sweet with good raspberry flavor, similar but not as strong as a some of the Belgian lambics. Some sourness with the finish. $3.99 for a 22oz bottle from RSVP Liquors Portland, Me.

(bottle - 22 oz) Cloudy pink/strawberry pour with a quickly fading pink head. Thick and sweet aroma of raspberry puree and some caramel. Sweet and tangy taste of raspberries and the slightest touch of hops at the end. Very tangy and spicy on the tongue and slightly warming at the end.

From a 750ml bottle, pours a deep reddish brown with a light white head and lace. Intense fruity aroma, light-medium body, slightly dry flavor balance where tart fruitiness dominates at the finish.

Hazy reddish-amber hue, with a frothy pale pinkyish head, with a predominant raspberry purée nose, with a hint of caramelized malt, and a note of tart fruitiness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a smooth raspberry fruity flavor at first, but with a tart acidic raspberry fruitiness character, with a faint floral hops, leading towards a sour juicy fruity raspberry finish.

22oz. bomber: This one pours a cloudy reddish color with brown tints. There was a fairly good sized pink head on it when it was poured, but it was gone very quickly. The nose is definitely raspberry, but a little weaker than I would have expected or liked. The flavor is that of a tart raspberry lambic, but a little weak of flavor and body. A decent enough attempt, but I don’t think that I’ll be buying any more.
