Smells of sour coffee, heath bar and red grapes with a little alcohol.
Tastes very differently for an imperial stout. Its very fruity with plumb, date, currant and tamarind. The chicory coffee flavor is back with a slight smokiness. When it warms, a subtle banana flavor comes out.
The smooth and thin mouth feel is ideal for all of the flavors present.
This is a very enjoyable and relaxing sipper that really grabbed my attention. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA

Roasted malt aroma, slightly charred. Sweet pecan pie flavor is evident but doing battle with lots of burnt malts, dripping pine and earthy hops. A noticable cinnamon bubblegum finish is striking. Slightly watery, but who cares. This beer is great! DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of rich dark patent malt, figgy fruit, chocoff. Tastes rich and roasty malty, with chocoff, figs, prunes, and slight nuts. Nicely done. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA

Very apparent chocolate and cherry nose. Not bitter at all, but not overly sweet. Great subtle roasted taste and caramel malts. Not perfection, but get snowed in and drink this, it’s heavenly. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 3, 2006 Bottle, 22 oz, 100 barrell series, #12, served in snifter: poured a delicious special dark chocolate, opaque, little to no head, notes of coffee, cocoa, plum, raisin, malts, everything roasted. Tasted sweet, alcohol, cocoa, coffee, roasty, etc. (no caramel though), Mouth felt smooth, medium bodies, not as thick as like imperials to be...well done for Harpoon. Tastes quite smooth- caramel malts, and decent hops to balance out. Not bad, considering some of these 100 barrel releases. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
