Commercial Description:
This full, smooth wheat ale is warming and delicious. It’s mildly hopped to let the distinct flavor and aroma of real VT maple syrup take the lead. The maple sweetness and body that blankets this velvety amber beer showcases one of New Englands most beloved traditions. Brewed with wheat malt, pale malt and caramel malt. The pure maple syrup used in this beer came from two syrup makers in the Green Mountain State. The Baker Family in East Dummerston has been boiling maple sugar since the 1950s. Dave Gavett also provided syrup from his Scrag Mountain Sugar House in Waitsfield. John’s recipe, along with top quality syrup from these two Vermont maple sugar operations, resulted in a crisp wheat ale that is warming and delicious. It is mildly hopped to profile the distinct aroma and flavor of real Vermont Maple Syrup. Hopped with Willamette. Brewed by John Baker

I love maple syrup so I naturally love this brew. Could have used more maple flavor but still pretty tasty.

22oz bomber from a local Hannaford. Pours an amber body with a half inch of short lived off-white head. Caramel, nut, maple, and maybe some wood-like character? Tastes like nut and maple, with some banana, caramel, and wood notes. Medium-bodied with modest carbonation. More of a drinker than expected for an ABV. Overall, for the style, a very interesting and unique beer that doesn’t fall easily into any category. Not something I’ll probably get again, but well-worth the try if this is your kind of thing.

22 ounce bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop in Durham, NC. Pours a hazy copper color with a medium creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, banana, maple, yeast. Taste is biscuity, bread, dough, light maple notes and a yeasty, fruity finish. Medium bodied with firm carbonation.

Bottle shared by robert at SL. After drinking some killer DIPA and stouts it isnt fair to rate this beer, but I thought it held its own compared to some of the big boys. Light orange in color. Sweet maple aroma and taste. Very easy to drink. Overall a will have to pick up this beer again to give it chance. Still a nice session beer.

Copper pour with off white head and lace. Aroma of wheat and maple syrup and malt. Wheaty, abv, and maple syrup on the flavor. Aggressive carbonation on a medium bodied beer. Very drinkable.

Draft at the local with a sub-par turkey sammich. Greenish amber in the glass. Heas diminishes to film but is consistent until the end. Body is Medium and finishes light. First touch of tounge is sweet maltiness in which the maple syrup tones emerge. A pleasant smokiness enters the scent and lingers until a sweet gently hoppy finish prevails. Wheatiness is absorbed by the rest of the gooings on and is faintly noticable. A pleasant pint that overcame the sub-par grub.

Pours caramel brown with a thin white head. Smells of maple, sweet wheat, earthy. Tastes earthy and sweet with a wheat finish. Good for what it is.

Pours deep, clear amber into a shaker. Offwhite head with good retention leaves spot lacing as it recedes. Sweet maple syrup aromas. Dry with upfront maple and caramel and a lasting wheat finish.
