Tastes sweet and nutty with a spicy finish. Another from this series that I hope makes it into their regular rotation. doboy (206), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 20, 2009 Poured a light copper color with a nice white head that disappeared a little too fast. Left a nice edge lacing. Aroma was malty. Taste was malty with a hint of hops. Nice mouthfeel. Bitterness on the backside was nice, not over powering. A nice warm weather beer! jredmond (1079), New Jersey, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 8, 2009 Poured from the tap into a stemmed glass.
The color was a clear golden color with some slight white head and a very slight lacing.
The smell was a bit sweet and had a slight tangy flavor. Some hop flavor in the background.
The taste quite good from the first sip. Some nice yeast flavor that hide in the background with some nice caramel and floral, spicy hops.
This beer was really full bodied but still pretty smooth. It was quite a nice treat and I would recomend this one to others.

Pours clear light orange with big white head. Smells bready and subtly fruity. Some mild hops and just lovely bread aromas. Not overly sweet. Light palate... surprised that it was 7.4%. I really liked this beer. CharlesDarwin (1871), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 17, 2009 22oz Bottle. Rich, fully whole-grain cereal and malt aroma. Fresh, prickly and alive. Pours a fuming crystal clear deep orangish-gold, with a finger of sandy white. Flavors deteriorate on the palate a bit. The malt develops some skunkiness and yeast products seem somewhat high. Not wet and dead, but not crisp, clean and snappy either, somewhere in the middle. Alcohols show through a bit much in the end. This is decent craft beer, but not a particularly stunning example of the style. P.S. I hate this new rating page. chriso (4852), London, Greater London, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 30, 2009 On tap at Harpoon Brewery, 8 October 2009. Pleased (and surprised) to find this still available on tap. Fairly dark gold for a helles. Soft malty aroma. Sweetish palate. Good depth. Lots of body for a Helles. Quite a lot of alcohol presence. Not too sticky. Not my favourite style but I liked this one.
