Commercial Description:
Currently Thom’s Olde Ale is Harpoon Ale, our first beer.

The first in the Harpoon family of beers, our ale is a light amber in color, medium bodied, and well balanced. The slightly fruity aroma is from Harpoon’s special yeast.

Golden in color with a froathy head. Traditional ale slightly woody aroma. Void of much real flavor. Finishes clean and does not make an impression on the palate. Big dissapointment compared to Harpoon’s IPA offering.

Well done, solid, drinking beer. Pours to a bright, amber color, with a thick, and creamy white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The nose is nice on this beer with good aromas of sweet and stewed malts, and some nice flowery hop aroma. The palate is firm, with good flavors of sweet malt, paired with a nice back drop of estery fruit. Harpoon Ale finishes with good sweet malt and caramel malt flavor up front, then ends with some good, grassy hop bitterness that takes the cloying edge off this beer. An excellent session beer, and a very food friendly one as well. Goes great with classic British pub grub, and is a natural with fish and chips, or a hot bowl of Boston baked beans.

12oz bottle pours amber witha tall offwhite head. Aromas of caramel malts and brief floral hops. Flavor is quite sweet. Nice caramel, yeast, roasted malt, a touch of honey as well. Finishes with some floral hops. Palate is medium bodied without much carbonation. Drinkable and would make a nice session.

Utter crap. I was expecting a lot more when I bought the sample 12 pack. I won’t go into detail. flat (not spoiled) flavour, very boring, and unappealing brew.

Sub par beer. Very light feel to it, with a bt too much carbonation. Flavor is lightly hopped, and there is a faint, bu peasant sweeness to it.

Tasty session beer, balanced. Better than Bass or similar. Hard to find on tap though.
