Commercial Description:
Currently Thom’s Olde Ale is Harpoon Ale, our first beer.

The first in the Harpoon family of beers, our ale is a light amber in color, medium bodied, and well balanced. The slightly fruity aroma is from Harpoon’s special yeast.

Light western hop and toffee aroma. Medium sweetness, western hops, some caramel. Underbittered and watery at times. Medium-light body. Medium rusty orange beer. Finish has a building bitterness with some marzen-like qualities. Fairly tart at times. Nothing to separate it from the pack, but drinkable.

Has a slight citursy aroma, light orange appearance with a thin, quickly fading white head. Has a very muted flavor of white grapes with a hint of citrus -not much else - not bad - just bland. Very smooth mouthfeel. I was a bit dissapointed compared to the other Harpoon’s I have had. Part of a 12 pack of a mixer that Harpoon is putting out.

Forgot this is where they started. Had a bottle at a seafood restaurant and it was the perfect choice. Light floral notes above a dark chestnut pour. Thirst quenching with above average malt characteristics. Light hop finish leads to more of this very drinkable amber ale.

Had this one on draught in Manhattan, New York. Standard amber ale. Hoppy aroma, very little head, rich red color, overall, a textbook amber.

Decent to rather good depending on my mood. And I mean that. Had a few and was not overly impressed at one time and enjoyed as something I could have kept drinking all night the next.

A very feint carmel nose with even more feint hop and yeast aromas. Pour slightly hazy orange color with a nice, sticky beige head. A little bit tastier than I had expected from the smell. Slightly sweeter carmel taste with some fruity hop and yeast undertones. An alright brew.
