The aroma was malty with some fruit and no hops, but somewhat weak. The flavor was slightly sweet, but unremarkable. Nothing special going on here. rabuc (143), carlisle, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 24, 2004 A well balanced ale. Very disappointing head with decent lacing. Almost no hop aroma. Flavor makes up for the appearance. Very smooth and only slightly bitter. Little aftertaste. Above average amber ale. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 6, 2004 Bottle. Pours a light amber color that is mostly clear. Decent head that fails quickly but never leaves completely with light lacing and an earthy somewhat malty nose. Not much sweetness but an immediate bitterness even though this brew did not have an overwhelming hop aroma. Mouthfeel is nice for an ale with small bubbles in its carbonation and a finish of light to medium bitterness rolling into a toffee-like ending. In short, pretty damn good ale. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
