chicagodri (1021), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 22, 2009 Pilsener is not exactly the most exciting beer, but this was well done. Pours gold with a thin head. Light aroma with a touch of hops. Good, clean flavor that is very easy to drink. Well done. logolovesbeer (4), USA does not count Oct 2, 2007 Brewed as a limited edition, I have only been able to find this beer once, but I would love to find it again and again. Botolph (16), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jan 20, 2007 I was very happy that Harpoon improved upon their standard pilsener. A great attempt by an American brewer. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA Jan 2, 2007 Nose-lemongrass, woody (light). Body-medium honey body with a thick ring of bubbles. Taste-light skunk, sharp, mildly astringent, apple juice, unsweet honey, dry, light straw, grassy hops. Sweetens as it warms. Powdery finish. argo0 (6842), Washington DC, USA Dec 28, 2006 (22oz bottle) Large white head atop clear pale straw body, nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, cereal, some floral. Taste is medium sweet, grassy/floral, some cereal, light lemon. Decent bitterness in the aftertaste. Watery, light body, light crispness. nhorween (639), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 21, 2006 Bottle. Light, golden color with a soapy white head. Crisp aroma - hops, floral notes, hay, cheese... not hugely complex. Similar flavor profile; light hops, citrus, wet hay. No apparent alcohol. Bubbly palate, a bit too thin. Drinkable, but not impressive. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Dec 16, 2006 (22oz. bottle) Pours a clear golden body with a moderate white head. Aroma of lemongrass, florals, herbs, cream, and honey. Flavor of malt, cream, and light hops. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Nov 17, 2006 22 oz bottle from Table and Vine in Northampton MA consumed from a Christoffel glass just a bit above fridge temperature. Pale bubbly gold with a fairly stable white small-bubble head and thick fine-patterned lacing, looks nice....grainy Saaz-dominated nose comes off a bit skunky and old at first (this bottle was no more than a month old when I had it) though some nice malt and perhaps a hint of honey shows up with some warmth and the acrid wafts dissipate eventually....body has a touch of bite but on the whole is way too doughy/soft to really work and it just gets sweeter and milder as it works towards the dull, slightly dry finish....carbonation is biting but a tad too low....check this one a "no" if you’re keeping score on the 100 Barrel series.
