Commercial Description:
Harpoon Brown is brewed to accentuate the sweeter, rounder notes derived from six different malts, including a de-husked chocolate malt that adds a hint of chocolate. The blend of these malts produces a beer that is complex and delicious without being heavy. This drinkable beer is perfect as a session beer or paired with foods.

Reddish-brown colour. Thin head. Slightly smokey, slightly munich malty nose. Fresh craclklin’ grains. Palate is thin, with some light nutty notes and some of that Newcastley metallic taste.

12 oz bottle-pours a foamy tan head that laces and copper/red color. Aroma is spice/citrus hops, medium malt-caramel. Taste is spice/citrus/slight metallic hops, medium malt-caramel. Finish is somewhat thin and quick. OK/mild carbonation.

Pours a transparent dark copper amber with a thin, wispy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasted caramel malt and a hint of milk chocolate. Body starts thin and semi-sweet with a lot of drier, nutty, toasty flavor toward the finish. A little weak for the style, but fairly well-balanced.

Pours brown with a brown with a thin tan head. Smells of biscuits, some earthiness and hints of spice. Tastes of caramel, some earthiness and hints of oats. Mouthfeel is thin with a semi sweet inoffensive finish. Nothing to write home about.
