Very little head or lacing, a nice malt flavor, very slight hint of bitterness on the finish. Overall, a good sessionable beer, but nothing special Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA

An amber color with a moderate head. Some molasses and dark fruit in the nose. A very crisp taste with a hint of caramel and nuttiness. Irish Ales are boring in general and this is maybe a slight notch above Killians but not much. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/20 | Mar 20, 2007 On tap at the Hop Devil Grill. Looks like a decent enough beer when poured into a wine glass. Aroma is a strange mix of red lollipop and Raisen Bran. Taste has some grape and caramel. The toasty malts are sweet, almost to a fault. Theres something medicinal in the taste, like cough syrup that makes this drain pour. How does this brewery sell any fuckin beer at all? AskForJenny (655), Ontario, New York, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 11, 2007 Updated: Feb 8, 2009Rerated 2/2009: Not really red, just orangish brown. Nice sweeter aroma this year. It has a weird varying density haed. Nice lacing. Flowery olfactory permiates the room. Nifty sparkling streams are constantly visible withing. Taste is not really bitter. But there is some back of throat linger which can be detected. Continuing the session a weak dull impression manifests itself on the palte.
Old rating: 12 oz brown bottle from the Beer Store in Moon. An affordable $2. Pop the lid and you get a somewhat stronger aroma than your typical yeasty uncooked bread dough. The smell even borders on the aroma of a strong ale, but not quite. The pour is orange brown with slight reddish tinge. Streaming carbonation is constantly abounding from inside this brew. Head is thin and alabaster. The taste is not offensive or overwhelming. I sense a little roasted malt along with the hint of bitterness associated with such malts. Nice medium carbonation that is satisfying during the drink. Finish is medium low lingering bitterness for a few moments after each sip, as anticipated with the small amount of roastyness that is present. Well behaved and even mannered. Enjoyable and easy to drink as any irish ale should be. Very little offensive personality makes this a repeatable brew. This is much better to drink as far as taste and palate goes when compared to Wexford Cream ale. As good as the better Irish ales I have tasted including Smithwisk’s and Hereford & Hops famous Cleary Red. ehhdayton (1115), USA
