Flavor is medium malt, roasted grain gives a feel of dryness also increases touch of bitterness, astringency not from hops but from the roasted grains, Off white head clear red to deep red, similar to smithwicks irish red drpimento (828), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 14, 2006 Pours with a nice tan foamy, frothy head and good lace. Slightly hazy copper color. A bit caramely, malty, musty aroma. A bit sharp in the mouth from carbonation and a somewhat off flavor profile. Fizziness is left on the tongue. Oddly after the fizziness is a flatish sweetness... Odd aftertaste too. If I had no others this would be ok. But, I’d rather have most other Irish Ales. Although, I must admit, this is from a beer a the month sample that’s a little old. vyvvy (2044), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA

The aroma is cane sugary sweet malt with light amount of roastedness, there is also os smooth creaminess. Medium body with light tingly carbonation. The taste starts with sweet caramel malt, bits of mustiness and rich roatiness. Bits of spicy hops come in for the finish. Not bad for the style, but the style itself is not my favorite. unclemattie (2416), Georgia, USA

Some hops back this up as well, providing some sharpness. Nothing elaborate here, but could be enjoyed in quantity. wholebeer (4), Indiana, USA does not count | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 7, 2006 irish reds aren’t the most interesting style and this one lives right up to that name sake
