Flavor is fruity; I detect even a hint of raspberries and strawberries. Very sweet, though, mildly reminiscent of Kool-Aid. Slight mild bitterness in the end. Flavor fades away quickly. The bottle says it's an Irish red; if that's true, this is a sad beer. Otherwise, it's mildly interesting. jsquire (2113), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 8, 2004 Pretty copper with an off-yellow head. Malty nose. Refined sugar and pale caramel sweetness, with some sort of spice tones. Balanced bitter in the finish. Good drink, but not interesting. maeib (4756), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 7, 2004 On tap - Waterfront Manhattan NYC. In my opinion this seemed to be an attempt at a Scotch ale although I see from the picture it says Irish style! The aroma was reasonably fruity and the colour a reddy brown. The taste was pleasantly malty but a tad thin. Would be interested to know its ABV? hopscotch (5510), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 2, 2004 Crystal clear, copper ale with a small, creamy, beige head. Great retention and nice lacing. The aroma is malty, spicy and rich with notes of caramel, chocolate and maple. Good, hearty flavor. Malty, but well-bittered for balance. Hints of maple syrup and cinnamon. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Probably a tad underrated, but then again I tend to be fairly generous with my scores.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 26, 2004 Great looking Irish Red, with all the floral notes you'd expect. Taste, unfortunately does not follow suit. Over hopped for the style. So, you get a quick dried finish rather than a pleasing malty aftertaste. jtw (943), farmington, Michigan, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 26, 2004 very citrusy and floral aroma. nice copper color, and a nice malty backbone. somewhat strange citrus/caramel taste in the body, but fruitiness leads to a dry-ish finish. not too bad anyway.
