Dark amber with a weak light brown head. Nutty smell and also nuts in the aroma with a touch of caramel and a nice, dry bitterness. Reminds me a lot of a typical British Bitter. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Clear deep amber, thin white head, light sweet malt aroma, rich sweet malt flavor, a nice touch of carmel, almost a butterscotch, just enough hops to balance

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2009 Pours a transparent copper amber with a small stringy lacing white head. Nice aroma of sweet toasty caramel malt and a touch of English hops. Starts with decent fullness and some toasty sweet caramel and grainy malty notes along with some mild earthy bittering hops before a crisp bittersweet finish. Quite drinkable and true to style. hopscotch (5510), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 2, 2004 Crystal clear, copper ale with a small, creamy, beige head. Great retention and nice lacing. The aroma is malty, spicy and rich with notes of caramel, chocolate and maple. Good, hearty flavor. Malty, but well-bittered for balance. Hints of maple syrup and cinnamon. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Probably a tad underrated, but then again I tend to be fairly generous with my scores.
