GG (1609), NorCal, California, USA Feb 26, 2007 To say this is an easy drinking beer would be spot on accurate. An appearance of rusty orange, a nice size upon pour with about a 5 minute melt time which left decent lacing. Mouthfeel is light, soft and clean. Aroma is sweet, perhaps some caramel malts along with a low-level bitterness that’s somewhere between "where is it?" and "I think I smell something". Taste is clean, refreshing although not very bitter, but it is slightly hoppy. It’s mostly malty sweetness that’s present. Overall, I’d say it’s a decent session beer. Clean finish, nice taste but nothing to blow you away. MikeT (76), Hollis, New Hampshire, USA Jan 13, 2007 Good session beer. Not quite up to an average ESB.
Light copper color with a nice head and lace. Taste is a little too sweet for my liking but it does not linger or leave the palate bitter after having more than one.
webjedi (249), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA Dec 20, 2005 Way to hoppy for my taste, and ended up teetering on bitter to taste. Very, very dry finish. Served best cold, and tends to go very bad when slightly warmed in open. Looks good in the glass though. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Aug 17, 2005 Light coppery texture gives way to reddish when the beer settles with a pinkish white head. Smells of pepper. Taste is much sweeter than I expect out of an ESB with a decent slightly bitter finish. Lizabeth (360), east falmouth, Massachusetts, USA May 20, 2005 Bottle. Amber with a medium-thick off-white head that lasted a while before fading to a ring. Sweet, malty, slighty spicy aroma. Taste is floral hops, toffee and sourdough bread. brewbandit (312), Marietta, Georgia, USA Feb 15, 2005 A light hazy bronze body with light hop and biscuitiness. Decent malt with a hint of toast but a little dry at the finish. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Oct 14, 2004
Clear, crisp bronze color...thick, fluffy, creamy head.
Aroma comes off coppery and metallic at first, next showing off nutty, caramelesque connotations, and finally revealing a sweet, fruity nature.
Light-bodied, though possessing a a great, bright, lively, well-rounded taste.
Fruity and smooth, richly malted, and untroubled by hops. An easy, easy drink, the flavor unfolded well in the long finish, and was much-appreciated.
I normally pass on ESBs, but enjoyed this one all the way down the glass.
harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Aug 15, 2004 A very typical and bland boring Haproon beer. Pours a amber color with a small fizzy head. Aroma is toasted, herbal and somewhat fruity. Watery and out of balance.
