Commercial Description:
Harpoon Extra Special Bitter (ESB) is a robust, refreshing example of the famous English style ale. Our ESB has a complex flavor that is created by several malts and assertive hops

Rather nice beer and an easy one to see as a session ale. As far as the ESB, hmmm mebbeeeeeee. I get particular about that name, but not a reason not to like this.

Not one of the best ESB's I've ever had...but it's not so bad...I can handle it fine...a good percentage but not a great taste.

Surprisingly malty aroma... The taste of malts and hops are balanced well.. starts with malts, finishes with hops. Not overly hopped which I expected it to be. Rather pleasant to drink... slightly bitter finish, but not in a bad way.

Beer pours with nice head, nice amber color, nice nose, malt and slight hops, More malt and some bitterness on the tongue, they did not dry hop the heck out of this, but that is perfectly in style. A very nice beer, especially for people who are tired of assertively dry hopped APAs.

Medium amber gold color. Medium head. Aroma is malty, slightly sweet. A medium bodied bitter. Malts are mild and a touch sweet. Hops are a little spicy. Not very bitter for an ESB. Mild and fairly flavorful. Well balance. Tasty, but more like an amber than an ESB. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pretty good ESB. Nice color and flavor. You can really taste both malt and hops, but neither is overpowering.

Light to very-light amber, frothy head. Sweet malty nose with a tiny hops presence. Nothing too exciting herr, very normal and very authentic tasting ESB. Small hoppiness at the end to dry the sweet malty drink.

Pours crisp and clear, with a deep amber body topped by a thick creamy head with nice lace. Sweet malty aroma with banana notes and a touch of hoppiness. Bitter yet slightly sweet malt flavor with a strong hoppiness and a bitter hoppy finish. Dry and medium bodied.
