CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Oct 19, 2007 Bottle thanks to mj: Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin, spotty-lacing wispy white head. Aroma of earthy piny hops and some mild pale maltiness. Starts semi-sweet and pale malty with a lot of earthy bittering and flavor hops with a hint of grapefruit. Good body, but needs a fresher hop character. hopdog (4648), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 12, 2007 22oz bottle. Poured a medium to deeper and slightly hazy orange color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, wet and fresh hops, juicy citrus, and lightly spicy. Tastes of caramel, citrus and had a lightly spicy finish. Tastes and body on the thin and somewhat watery side. Tastes a big let down vs. the aromas. hopscotch (4588), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 26, 2007 Bottle… Clear copper ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. Notes of beef stock, earthy hops and crystal malt, along with a whisper of mildew-like funk, permeate my nose. The flavor is all about fresh hop bitterness balanced by mild, caramel malt sweetness. Full-bodied with a whole-milk mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Mellow, pleasantly bitter finish. A big SHOUT goes out to kmweaver for providing the bottle!
