Harsebrau (164), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Nov 4, 2009 A gift from Mickey and unexpected indeed. Poured golden copper with a whispy white head that left minimal lacing. Aroma that has the typical hop nod. The malt presence is more than many IPAs with a more ’balanced’ approach to an otherwise hop heavy genre. Grass, citrus and other typical IPA flavors abound. Niko100 (81), New York, USA Oct 30, 2009 Rich gold color; Medium body; Aroma of hops and citrus; Flavor of bitter hops, citrus, and some malt; Overall taste is soapy; Not a big fan of the style - this is an average IPA for me. italianjohn (337), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 24, 2009 Pours a golden color with white head lots of lacing slight floral hop in aroma ... way too malty for an ipa and not much citrus hop taste ... had some bready malt flavor and near the bottom a little more sweet citrus taste .... not a typical ipa color either ... very unimpressed with this tasted and looked more like a mass produced crap JediMindTricks (239), Hampton, Virginia, USA Oct 18, 2009 Typically not a fan of IPAs but this was rather good, good malty flavor to compliment the full hop flavor. rmussman (905), California, USA Oct 16, 2009 Sampled in Cambridge. A really well crafted IPA. Full bodied and nice drinking. chriso (4665), London, Greater London, England Oct 16, 2009 On tap and in bottle at various locations in and around Boston. By US IPA standards this is a fairly restrained little number. Golden colour. Modest hop character with some grassy and citrus notes. Easygoing and easy drinking. Not a beer to provoke extreme reactions but a very useful staple in the Boston area where it is often available in bars that are otherwise devoid of craft beer. So I ended up drinking, and enjoying, quite a lot of it.
17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 12, 2009 On tap 8.22.09 @ Hop Cat. Pours a rich apple-juice color with a small head. Aroma is appley and mildly fruity. Flavor follows, subdued hops with a juice mild malt backing. Body is somewhat syrupy. Worked decently to wash down some hotwings. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 8, 2009 Bottle: Poured an orange color with a thin white head. The aroma was malts and hops. The flavor was sweet malts, fruit and hops. Overall, not a bad IPA.
