On tap at Pat O’Briens in NYC. Meh. This guys sort of missed the boat on the whole IPA thing like someone who showed up at 11:07 to catch an 11:00 ferry (please take a second to marvel at the cleverness of that comparison - I really need to get a stand-up gig). Golden appearance with medium white head. Floral aroma. Hops are weak and not of the best quality and the bitterness just isn’t there. A little light on the palate. Will do when your other options are adjunked-up shit beers. UPDATE: Tried this again on tap at a hotel in DC. Flavor is actually decent. Upping the rating from 3.0 to 3.3.

Bottle.A deep golden straw color with a thick off white head that makes nice lace on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, and a hint of bread and maybe a note of sweet peaches . Flavor is piny faintly citrus over a light toasted and biscuity malt taste. The palate is medium bodied with good carbonation and a hopy bitterness that lingers on the tongue. A very sessionable and enjoyable beer that was fun to try.

Reviewed 1/23/2009 (Tap @ Flying Saucer, Houston, TX): Pours a clear light amber colored body, with a mall frothy white head, lastingish. Very bitter piney aroma, ome malts but mostly hops. Piney taste, but not very hoppy or bitter. Almost an off taste, like chemicals or something. Almost a hoppy aftertaste. Pretty decent beer.

Clear amber-gold with big, foamy white head / Light nose of honey and hops / Light body, crisp and clean with dry finish / Simple flavors of grain and honey, with narry a trace of hops / Call this a pilsner and its a fine beer, but an IPA, no way.

Light amber pour with a foamy head. Aroma of grassy hops and some malt. Flavor balanced between hops and malt with neither being very strong. Not a bad beer, just a bland one.

Another really boring pale ale. Pours clear light copper with a weak head. ridiculous carbonation. weak malt aroma. Unfortunately the flavor is weak on the hops too. Bland feel all arond. At least the finish is agreeable.
