Oh, the smell, loved the smell - one of those odd beers that I can remember the smell months later just thinking about it - now if I could only find the words - what immediately comes to mind is fresh malts, springtime fresh cut hops and grass, a large dose of earthiness. Taste is fresh and malty, not too sweet, very smooth, the just bright enough hops don’t really come in until the end and then you want another sip and a full nose full of the aroma. I’d love to buy this again, but it’s been awhile and I just know that I’d be disappointed.

12-oz bottle received via Secret Santa July 2008. Pours amber with an average foamy off-white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, hay, straw), light hops (herbs, grass), average yeast (sweat) with notes of soap, pears, and wet paper. Light bodied, thin texture, light carbonation, and a chalky finish. Long duration, light sweetness and bitterness, moderate acidity.

Pours turbid deep dull copper with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is wheaties, caramel malt, spicy yeast, hopcitrus. Tastes of spicy yeast, rye wheat, funky hops, and malt, with a creamy texture and nice complexity.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A hazy orange beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw and malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and a hay like note of hops, leading to a dry bitter finish.

12 oz bottle; poured a dark orange/amber with a medium sized, creamy, white head. Aroma was sweet with toasted malt, vanilla and caramel. Aroma got better to me. Haven’t had this style for a while. Good amount of hoppy bitterness; hops were mostly herbal and grassy. Very good grassy flavors. Malts were slightly sweet, nutty and toasted. Solid beer.

bottle. wake up early , head to the library- fuck it, i’ll eat later- then to the bank, i’ll grab something in a bit,- YOU WANT HOW MUCH OF MY MONEY?, NO, MA’AM, FUCK YOU! on to the courthouse, damn this snow is getting strong, damn, no time to eat, later hopefully i’ll grab some coffee or something soon. made it out of the courthouse unscathed, back to the library- no i don’t have any change tospare you miserable land carp, get out of my way. a few hours in the library, damn, when was the last time i ate or had anything to drink? ten minutes to home & the snow is really coming down. i start some stuff cooking on the stove as i crack this harpoon kellerbier. take a whiff & i am back in the field on a hot summer day picking cantalope in texas.the aroma is honey, dirt, & cantalope. great flavor that is so refreshing. honey, buscuity goodness. fuck the food, give me more of this beer. i can go another 6 hours now. fruit finish is pleasant. a nice hop midway on my tongue that brings out the cerealsweetness. beautiful hazed tan body that sticks to the sides of my glass. all i have to do now is schedule my community service for the next couple months and i can spend the rest of the day drinking 4 9 7 4 17
