12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown/black color with a rapidly receding small brown head. Holding the glass up to a light reveals ruby highlights. Aroma is roasted malt, faint chocolate and dark fruits. Palate is medium bodied with a sllight stickiness. Flavor is a nice blend of malt, chocolate, molasses and dark fruits. Alcohol is very well hidden and not noticable at all.

12oz. bottle, with thanks to 46er3498 for the bonus. Pours a lighter brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is roasty malts, chocolate, and dark fruits. Flavor is more roasty malts, molasses, dark fruits and a spicy finish. Could actually stand a little less carbonation on this one, otherwise an enjoyable, easy drinking baltic porter. Thanks again Tom!

Bottle from j12601, thanks Jay. Pours a deep brown color with some dark ruby edges when held to the light and an inch thick, bubbly khaki head that slowly faded to a bubbly layer that left some spots of lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, some chocolate, a light earthy hoppiness, and some soft hints of dark fruit. Smooth, moderately sweet entry with some light chocolate that leads into a strong roasted malt character and some light molasses sweetness and a faint hint of fruit that finishes lightly dry with some astringency and a bit of lingering roast. Moderate carbonation and decent mouthfeel. Although there is a very faint fruitiness in the flavor, it is not close to others in it’s class and it fails to round out the flavor profile. Overall, a decent beer that is pretty drinkable considering the ABV. Thanks Jay.

Taste is sweet dark malt-roasty/molasses/licorice, secondary spice/earthy hops, some dark fruit. Soft carbonation. 3.3 *090402-12 oz bottle-ashy/hint of chocolate, carbonation on the aggressive side. 2.7 We’ll go with the tap version.

2009-04-10. Very dark brown-black body with a modest beige head. (3+) Aroma is very roasty at first, over dark malt base. (7+) Flavour has a lot of hoppy bitterness up front, roast bitterness, sweet malt base is secondary really. (7+) Smooth medium bodied palate. Solid. Bottle from Premier Gourmet, Buffalo

Draught at Coles, Buffalo, NY . Pours a deep, dark ruby-brown with a small diminishing cramy tan head. Aroma’s roasty and sweet along with coffee, dark fruit and chocolate. Flavour of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, some sweetness, dark fruit and a good amount of alcohol. Roasty bitter finish. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied. Great stuff!

Nice and dark. A bit sticky. Aroma is mimicked by taste of toasty, roast, and coffee. Some woody grainy characterr. Some dark cocoa and a little cream. A little bitter lingers.

Bottle. Nearly black. Small beige head. Aroma has a lot of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and some molasses. Flavor has dark fruit, molasses, chocolate and its a bit hot for my tastes. This is almost really good but a the same time something just doesnt sit exactly right.
