Aroma of toasty dark caramel and dark fruity ester complexity with a hint of tartness. Starts with good fullness and nice dark malty sweetness with an enjoyable dark fruity complexity for balance before a bready yeasty finish with some lingering dark chocolate notes. A pretty true to style and enjoyable Baltic porter. jcwattsrugger (5361), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 19, 2009 Dark brown-black beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is quite chocolatey. Sweet and cocoaish with a nice light sweetness on the nose. A touch of peppery alcohol up front. There is a light herbal backnote as well. Flavour is pretty lean bodied with a toasty cocoaish flavour. It tastes quite boozy in a way that is a little distracting. Soft astringency on the back as well. It’s a bit of a miss for me. Tastes roasty, with notes of chocolate malt, slight molasses, hops, coffee, spicy, figgy, nutty, and some creamy, lactic finishing notes. Sammy (4012), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
