Taste is medium sweet, bittersweet chocolate, roast, some burnt, light salted peanut. Alcohol present but remains in the background. Medium-full body, some syrup, light acidity.

Dec 21, 2008 12oz bottle. Poured a darker brown color with red edges and a larger sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, some earthiness, and just a trace of dark fruits. Tastes of dark fruits -definitely more than the aromas-, roast, chocolate, and a lighter earthiness. Alcohol content well hidden. Lacing left on the glass.

Mar 13, 2009 Bottle shared by argo0: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of toasty dark caramel and dark fruity ester complexity with a hint of tartness. Starts with good fullness and nice dark malty sweetness with an enjoyable dark fruity complexity for balance before a bready yeasty finish with some lingering dark chocolate notes. A pretty true to style and enjoyable Baltic porter.

Apr 11, 2009 on tap @Capones–pours an off white head and dark brown color. Aroma is dark malt-roasty/molasses, some earthy hops. Taste is sweet dark malt-roasty/molasses/licorice, secondary spice/earthy hops, some dark fruit. Soft carbonation. 3.3

Dec 17, 2008 Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of chocolate, raisins. Tastes spicy and of chocolatey malt with some mild roastiness on the finish. Mouthfeel is thin with a masked alcoholic finish.

Mar 19, 2009 Dark brown-black beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is quite chocolatey. Sweet and cocoaish with a nice light sweetness on the nose. A touch of peppery alcohol up front. There is a light herbal backnote as well. Flavour is pretty lean bodied with a toasty cocoaish flavour. It tastes quite boozy in a way that is a little distracting. Soft astringency on the back as well. It’s a bit of a miss for me.

Mar 10, 2009 Pours blackish with deep brown edges and 2-finger off-tan head that retains well for a beer this big. Tastes roasty, with notes of chocolate malt, slight molasses, hops, coffee, spicy, figgy, nutty, and some creamy, lactic finishing notes.

Nov 21, 2009 Very drinkable baltic porter. A bit of the BP edge, but mostly taste closer to a RIS with chocolate malting. Pours dark, smells malty.
