Pours tawny brown with a dense tannish head that disappears quickly. The aroma has sweet malt, earthy Belgian yeast, dough and rich toffee. Medium / thick body that is sticky and cloying and has fairly mellow carbonation. The flavor starts with the aroma traits and has plenty of alcohol heat and is very sweet - even for a quad. The finish is quite warming and there are some medicinal traits. Okay for an American version of a quad.

12 oz. bottle from Ludlow Wines. Pours a ruby brown color with plenty of sediments floating around and a small off-white head. Aroma of sugar, banana, nuts, fig, plum, yeast, and alcohol. Flavor of brown sugar, banana nut bread, fig, plum, spices, and very warm alcohol, especially late. Lingering sweet alcohol finish. Active carbonation, sweet early, and really boozy later and afterward. Medium-full bodied, with a thick mouthfeel.

12oz bonus bottle from pwoods. Thanks! Medium to strong banana aroma. Heavy body. Lasting offwhite head. Strong alcohol taste and burn makes it hard to drink. Some orange peel bitterness. Seems sweet, but I think this is just the body and long boil melanoidins. Probably needs a tons of aging to mellow out the booziness.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber body with a good bit of small chunky floaties hanging about. Very small fizzy off-white head that vanished quickly. Very sweet sugary nose with candi sugar, dark fruits like fig and plum, some light alcohol, and a bit of brown sugar. The flavor is just loads of brown and Belgian candi sugar up front and lots of hot burning alcohol on the back end. Very peppery on the finish. Very sticky and sweet with way too much residual sugar, making the finish linger on forever. Fizzy prickly carbonation level. Huge heat on the finish. Not an especially good Quad, or even easy to drink period.

Bottle courtesy of Cletus! The beer pours a beautiful pale red color, almost like a brick red with a thick medium head and some lace. The aroma is apple and some clove with some cinnamon and caramel, and of course alcohol. The flavor has some big cherry notes with a bit of alcohol hotness and a bit of cloying sugary sweetness. The beer has apple like tart notes with some caramel and some light spice. The beer really balances better as it warms up. Tasty.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a large tan head that lasted until mid-glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of caramel, plums, yeast and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is caramel and yeast and not as fruity as the aroma suggests. Very noticeable alcohol in the flavor towards the finish along with a moderate burn. Not as smooth or rich in texture as I would expect to see in a quad. As a quad, this beer is lacking a bit, but ignoring the style, this an enjoyable beer.

12-oz., poured blind. Pours clear amber. A little hot on the taste. Seems like it would benefit from some more time in the bottle. The hoppiest and the simplest of the group of quads.

I found this ale to be way too tart. I’m not a big Belgian fan but I have had some nice ones... this was not one of them.
